Former AMBERIAN DAWN vocalist Heidi Parviainen has posted a teaser for her new project, entitled DARK SARAH. The clip below features a sample of the track ‘Save Me’.
Says Heidi: “The whole song and a music video will be out in the beginning of 2013.”
“Cold Kiss”, the new video from Finnish female-fronted symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN, can be seen below. The track, which features a guest appearance by STRATOVARIUS singer Timo Kotipelto, comes off AMBERIAN DAWN‘s fourth studio album, “Circus Black”, which was released in Finland on February 29 via Spinefarm Records. The band’s mainman, keyboardist and guitarist Tuomas Seppälä composed all ten songs for the CD and vocalist Heidi Parviainen penned the lyrics.
“Circus Black” features additional guest appearances by Tuomas Nieminen (ex- ADAMANTRA, THRONE OF CHAOS), Nils Nordling (ex-DREAMTALE, ANIMAL HOUSE) and Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS, DIO, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN’S RISING FORCE). Nieminen and Nordling share vocal parts in the song “I Share With You This Dream”, Kotipelto sings lead on “Cold Kiss” and Johansson plays a keyboard solo on “Crimson Flower”.
Commented Tuomas: “‘Circus Black’ is the most impressive AMBERIAN DAWN album so far. Musically it represents the most sophisticated and most symphonic edge of AMBERIAN DAWN music. There’s more diversity on this album than never before. This is the first time we used a real choir and we gathered some really excellent professional opera singers together to be able to achieve the best-sounding choir possible. This choir was conducted by Mikko P. Mustonen from Pathos Music. He also arranged the choir and orchestral parts.
“We managed once again to get some world-class guests on this album. So, the production is our biggest so far and the final polish on this album was given by Teropekka Virtanen (mixing engineer) and Mika Jussila (mastering engineer) at legendary Finnvox Studios in Finland.
“The whole band did excellent job with recordings. It was really awesome, that Kasperi [Heikkinen] recovered from his hand injury just in time (only a couple of weeks before the mixing sessions started) and he was able to play guitar solos on this album. Even in the fall it seemed that I and Kimmo [Korhonen] would have to play all guitar parts by ourselves.” Source: Blabbermouth.net

AMBERIAN DAWN‘s current lineup:

Timo Kotipelto (vocals) and Jens Johansson (keyboards) of STRATOVARIUS will make guest appearances on the forthcoming fourth album from Finnish female-fronted symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN. AMBERIAN DAWN‘s mainman, keyboardist and guitarist Tuomas Seppälä composed all ten songs for the CD — which is due in 2012 — and vocalist Heidi Parviainen penned the lyrics.
Johansson previously guested on AMBERIAN DAWN‘s third album, “End Of Eden”, which was released in October 2010 via Spinefarm Records.
Commented Tuomas: “I and the whole band have put even more effort on this album than never before and I’m sure that this new album is going to be best AMBERIAN DAWN album so far… Some songs on this album are propably best that I’ve ever composed and there’s also one instrumental song on this album, which I wrote in 1992 and it was supposed to be released on some rock opera project. Unfortunaly, this project never happened due some unfortunate happenings. But now, after 20 years, this one song is going to be released. All other songs are new and are not covered with dust.
“If you liked the sound of ‘The Clouds Of Northland Thunder’ [AMBERIAN DAWN's second album, 2009], which was mixed by Teropekka Virtanen, you’ll going like the fact that this new album is going to mixed by the same guy at legendary Finnvox Studios in Finland…
“As you know, guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen injured at summer and was unable to play at all for several months. That’s why Kasperi was replaced by our ex-guitarist Emppu on our latest European tour this fall. It even seemed like Kasperi wasn’t able to play on this new album at all. But a miracle happened and Kasperi got his hand better only a few days before the mixing sessions started and he was able to play something on this new album after all!! So, Kasperi is back on our happy lineup again.”

AMBERIAN DAWN was scheduled to enter the studio this past summer to begin recording its new album. AMBERIAN DAWN mainman, keyboardist and guitarist Tuomas Seppälä composed all ten songs for the CD and vocalist Heidi Parviainen has penned the lyrics.
Commented Tuomas: “There’s going to be some changes in our working methods and the next album is going to sound different compared to our previous albums. We’re going to use backing vocalists, for example. Earlier we have had only guest lead singers and no backing vocalists at all. There’s some really fast songs on this album and also some ’80s- style songs like ‘Valkyries’ and ‘Kokko’ from our previous albums. Technically, there’s great challenges for the band and all the skills possessed by the new lineup will be essential. We’re going to break some new limits again and lift the level of our quality even higher than before. With some guest vocalists or musicians on this album, just like on all our previous albums, this new album is going to be more solid than our latest album, ‘End Of Eden’.”
Added Heidi: “There’s going to be some new elements on the lyrics, for example some horror themes”.
