Organizers of next year’s sold out Wacken Open Air Festival – which will take place August 1st – 3rd in Wacken, Germany – have launched their annual X-Mas Calendar 2012 which will announce a band (or bands!) daily until December 24th. Today’s (December 11th) bands are NAGLFAR and HARDCORE SUPERSTAR.

Former ARCH ENEMY guitarist CHRISTOPHER AMOTT has released the following update:

“Here for sale is a Caparison Dellinger-CA VW. I Christopher Amott, owned and played this signature model guitar, and it was used on many Arch Enemy performances.

This is a one-off Caparison and here’s why; it has a mahogany body with a walnut top, the regular Caparison Dellinger-CA VW is all mahogany.

It comes equipped with DiMarzio pickups; LiquiFire in the bridge position, True Velvet Middle in the middle position and Air Norton S in the neck position. The bridge pickup is fitted with a chrome mounting ring.

To prove my authenticity, please check the posts on my official Facebook and Twitter accounts.

This guitar comes in an original Caparison hard case. Buy this guitar and I will include three original Christopher Amott plectrums along with a CD copy of the Japanese version of my latest release, Impulses, autographed by me.

Mexico’s TVC recently aired a segment on ARCH ENEMY as a build-up to the band’s two night stand in Mexico City on December 4th and 6th. Check it out below:

Arch Enemy recently announced a second show in Mexico City, on December 6th, where they’ll perform their Wages Of Sin album in it’s entirety.

An update from the band states: “We are celebrating the 10th year anniversary of our Wages Of Sin album in 2012 – a defining release in the history of Arch Enemy as you might know. We have decided to dedicate the last Arch Enemy concert of 2012 to this album and our Mexican fans and play it in its entirety (plus an encore of rare Arch Enemy songs). If you are anywhere near Mexico City on December 6th – don’t miss out on this truly unique event which will not be repeated! Be there and become a part of Arch Enemy’s history!”

CHILDREN OF BODOM Confirmed For Finland’s Kivenlahti Rock 2013

CHILDREN OF BODOM are now confirmed to play the Kivenlahti Rock 2013 in Espoo, Finland on June 7th. Go to this location for event details.

The band was recently confirmed for Metalfest Loreley 2013, which is scheduled for June 20th – 22nd, 2013 at St. Goarshausen (Rhine Gorge), State Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

Word came down on November 12th that Children Of Bodom have cancelled their scheduled appearance at the Tuska Open Air 2013, scheduled for June 28th – 30th in Helsinki, Finland. Bassist Henkka T. Blacksmith issued the following statement:

“We’ve been waiting to play Tuska for some years now. It is our home festival after all. Unfortunately this year we have to sacrifice a couple of festivals in Europe in order to be able to be part of a big tour in USA. These are not easy nor nice decisions. We only can hope we can do Tuska in the near future again. Please stay tuned for our schedules for summer 2013. Fortunately we are able to play shows in Europe as well. Looking forward!”
