METAL BLADE has issued the following:

Death metal icons, Cannibal Corpse, have confirmed that they will be spending most of the month of October this year in the eastern hemisphere. This will be the band’s first time in many of these cities, which include Jakarta, Tokyo, Perth, Seoul, as well as a show in Hawaii on their way back into the western hemisphere. The entire confirmed schedule can be seen below.

This tour, once complete, will leave few stones left unturned for Cannibal Corpse in the realm of international touring, as they completed a thorough tour of Eastern Europe in 2010 in which they performed in 10 countries in 18 days and met some random characters along the way. That experience was documented and released as the Global Evisceration DVD, which is available on-line HERE. Updates from the band’s trek this October will be available (pending internet connectivity, of course) via the band’s twitter account (@CorpseOfficial), bassist Alex Webster’s twitter account (@AlexCannibal), and the official Cannibal Corpse facebook page.

CANNIBAL CORPSE are touring in support of their critically lauded, impossibly brutal full-length, Torture, released through Metal Blade Records earlier this Spring. On the twelfth studio offering of their inspiring twenty-four year career, the Floridian quintet have never sounded so vital, the album building upon the wealth of powerful, dark, and memorable songs comprising 2006′s Kill and 2009′s Evisceration Plague and pointedly upping the ante at every turn. The record landed the band at #38 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart upon its first week of release, making it the highest debut in CANNIBAL CORPSE history! Torture landed at #7 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart, #4 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums chart and #32 Billboard Top Current Albums Chart. Produced by Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan, Torture continues to reap critical accolades from critics and fans around the globe and is yet another testament to CANNIBAL CORPSE‘s permanent allegiance to shrewdly arranged, pile-driving death metal madness.

Finnish folk metallers FINNTROLL will embark on a tour of Australia in March 2011. Support on the trek will come from ale-guzzling Australian warriors CLAIM THE THRONE.

The dates are as follows:

March 24 – Brisbane, AUS @ The Hifi
March 25 – Melbourne, AUS @ Billboard The Venue
March 26 – Sydney, AUS @ The Manning Bar
March 28 – Perth, AUS @ Capitol

“Nifelvind”, the latest album from FINNTROLL, was released in North America on March 9 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland and was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The album cover artwork was created once again by the band’s guitarist Skrymer.

Commented FINNTROLL in a statement: ‘Nifelvind’ is the most advanced and mature FINNTROLL album to date, with musical themes ranging from powerful death metal riffs to dark soundtracks, from pounding black metal to groovy ’80s pop music. All this is accompanied by our trademark sound, lots of never-before-heard instruments in the metal scene, folklore and legends that make it overall the most versatile album we have created so far.”
