The official teaser for “Insanity” can be viewed below, a powerful combination between the most genuine old school death metal and the most blasting modern stuff.
The next 7th of November will be the worldwide release of the mind blowing first video of the band. Extracted from their debut album “Insanity”. Entitled “Biohazard” and giving the name to the first single of Dark Confessions:
Billy Graziadei of BIOHAZARD joined Welsh ragga-metallers SKINDRED on stage at the Hegyalja Fesztivál — which was held July 18-22 in Tokaj, Hungary — to perform the song “Nobody”. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
Commented Billy: “We toured with DUB WAR [pre-SKINDRED] and DOG EAT DOG earlier in our career and got along great with Benji [Webbe] and the guys. SKINDRED is an awesome band on and off stage, I had an great time jamming with them! Looking forward to touring with them sometime soon!”
Guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei of New York hardcore/metal veterans BIOHAZARD got tattooed on stage while performing a sweat-driven and crushingly intense gig on July 10 at the Atlantik club in Freiburg, Germany.
“We pulled into the city and while walking into the club I passed by a tattoo parlor,” explains Graziadei. “Dropped in to say hello and met Tom Deyhle from Silverskull Tattoo. We had mutual friends and hit it off. I sat down for some ink before the show then had to split before we finished it, so I asked him if he’d be into finishing it during the show. Tom thought it was a cool idea, so he came down to the sold-out show that was probably one of the hottest shows we’ve ever played. During ‘Reborn’ from our new album ‘Reborn in Defiance’ I finished my ‘Reborn’ tattoo. It took longer than we thought, so we went into an old song we never played before called ‘Ink’ off of ‘State Of The World Address’… What an awesome time!”
He added, “Another cool detail was that Tom used a wireless tattoo gun. The power for the gun was internal and the controller that he steps on was connected to the gun via bluetooth! Times change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not… glad this was one of the good times!”
BIOHAZARD‘s current European summer tour will wrap on July 22 at the DevilSide Festival in Oberhausen, Germany.
BIOHAZARD‘s latest album, “Reborn In Defiance”, was released in Europe on January 20 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Not only is “Reborn In Defiance” BIOHAZARD‘s first original lineup album in 18 years, but it also marks the last album recorded by the band before the departure of bassist and co-vocalist Evan Seinfeld. The effort remains a testament to the four founding members (Billy Graziadei, Bobby Hambel, Evan Seinfeld and Danny Schuler) and their unique chemistry.
Seinfeld left the band in June 2011 after the band’s new CD was completed and was replaced by Scott Roberts, who played on the band’s 2005 “Means To An End” album and has been part of the BIOHAZARD extended family since.
Jo Schüftan of Horns Up Rocks! recently conducted an interview with former BIOHAZARD and current ATTIKA 7 frontman Evan Seinfeld . You can now listen to the chat in two parts below.
When asked about his decision to leave BIOHAZARD and join ATTIKA 7, Evan said, “BIOHAZARD was my thing — I founded the band, I started the band, I wrote the music, I wrote the lyrics, I named the albums, I did the tours. I always identified myself with it. But things change as you go on and things evolve and sometimes things stray from your original vision so far that it’s no longer… it’s not the same drug and it doesn’t get you high anymore.
“I think [the latest BIOHAZARD album] ‘Reborn In Defiance’ was a really good record; musically, it was good, but I think lyrically, to be honest, it was a little bit uninspired, and I didn’t know if realized it while I was doing it.
“The process of making that album was just long and tedious, and in the end, it’s not even gonna come out in the USA.
“The way that went down for me was I put a lot of time and energy making that record and I don’t know what I was expecting, it’s just that this is who I am and this is what I do.
“When the opportunity came up to play with Rusty [Coones, ATTIKA 7 guitarist], for me…. I don’t wanna go on and on about BIOHAZARD. For me, it was a long time coming. I really needed a change. It’s something that I thought about every day: ‘I would love to just start something new. I would love to just let this thing that I created kind of be remembered with dignity.’
“When I started playing with Rusty, I found something in my voice that I always knew was there but I didn’t know how to get to. I think that’s what I’m trying to say when I needed a change — I don’t feel like I was reaching my full potential as a singer.” ATTIKA 7 recently announced the addition of guitarist Zach Broderick (formerly with NONPOINT), drummer Tommy Holt (ex-UPO) and former KYUSS bassist Scott Reeder to the group’s ranks.
ATTIKA 7‘s debut album, “Blood Of My Enemies”, will be released on July 31 via Rocket Science Ventures/THC:MUSIC in North America and Membran/Ninetone in Europe. The CD was recorded with producer Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK). The bass and drum tracks on the effort were laid down by Tony Campos (SOULFLY, POSSESSED, STATIC-X, ASESINO, MINISTRY) and Devin Lebsack, respectively, but due to scheduling conflicts they were not able to make the required commitment to ATTIKA 7.

New York hardcore/metal veterans BIOHAZARD have chosen Travis Campbell’s video for “Vengeance Is Mine” as the grand-prize winner of their music video contest.
Using their Facebook page, the band challenged fans to create their own music video for a track off of their new album, “Reborn In Defiance”. Submissions were uploaded to YouTube, and the band unanimously agreed on Campbell‘s entry as the first official video for “Reborn In Defiance”.
Commented BIOHAZARD vocalist/guitarist Billy Graziadei: “Without the help of extra footage, Travis took some classic imagery from our previous videos and made it all work for ‘Vengeance is Mine’… pure awesomeness! Be on the lookout for some great things to come from him!”
Added Campbell: “I have been a BIOHAZARD fan since the early ’90s and have always been influenced by their videos and social commentary and wanted to show my respect and appreciation for a band that has helped me get through some rough times throughout the years. I started watching all the old BIO vids and got the idea of taking all the material and cutting it in a new way and adding in civil unrest footage from Occupy Wall Street, the civil rights era, and other events like Bloody Sunday. The hardest part was getting the synch right, having Billy from 1994 singing to a phrase in 2012 proved quite challenging! In the end, I am proud of the video and I am elated that BIOHAZARD likes it as well.”
Travis will be rewarded with the “DFL Grand Prize,” which guarantees him free Biohazard tickets and AAA passes for himself and a friend to all BIOHAZARD shows, for life. First runner-up was Randy Memoli with the track “Reborn” and second runner up was Kareem Girgis with “Come Alive”, will each receive a ticket to all BIOHAZARD shows for life.
Added Graziadei: “We got a lot of great submissions that all rocked! Thank you to everyone who spent their time and talent on making their own great videos, DFL forever!”
“Reborn In Defiance” was released in Europe on January 20 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Having last recorded and toured as the fundamental lineup with the release of “State Of The World Address” back in 1994, BIOHAZARD reformed with all four original members back in 2008 to commemorate the band’s 20th anniversary. They went back out on the road together over the next two years, during which time inspiration struck.
The legendary Toby Wright (ALICE IN CHAINS, METALLICA, SEVENDUST, KORN) was brought in to produce the 13-track “Reborn In Defiance”, which was recorded in Los Angeles.
After devastating stages internationally including the renowned Persistence tour around Europe as well as the Soundwave festival in Australia, New York hardcore legends BIOHAZARD have announced their return to Europe for a run of summer festivals!
The band is touring in support of the highly-acclaimed new album “Reborn In Defiance” which was released in January 2012. Additional summer dates will be announced shortly.
Vocalist/Guitarist Billy Graziadei adds: “I’ve been home from tour for five days now and can’t wait to get the hell back on the road! Europe, are you fucking ready for this? We are!!!”
