W.A.R. Producions has issued the following:
‘Creature Of Habit’ is the new solo instrumental album by Australian instrumental rock artist and guitarist JOE MATERA. Featuring 12 new tracks such as ‘Slide’, ‘Endless Summer’, Brave New World’ and ‘Outland’, it showcases Matera’s attentive song craft, melodic and tasteful guitar work and intriguing sonic landscapes. Adding a new dimension to his work, and following in the tradition of fellow instrumental artists such as Joe Satriani, the album also spotlights Matera’s vocal talents on ‘Fallen Angel’.
Backing Matera on ‘Creature Of Habit’ are American James Strickler (Angellic Rage) on drums (as well as bass on several tracks), Englishman Tony Dolan (Venom, MPire of Evil) on bass on three tracks and fellow Englishman Rich Davenport on one. Matera is also joined by a few guests; The Angels’ Rick Brewster and Smokie’s Mick McConnell – both who appeared on Matera’s 2011 EP ‘Slave To The Fingers’ – make a guest guitar solo contribution; Brewster on ‘No Way!’ and McConnell on ‘Outland’, while Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday, The Color Fred, Terrible Things) contributes a stunning guitar solo on ‘Endless Summer’.
Creature Of Habit is released September 3, 2012 via W.A.R Productions (Europe) and Mercury Fire Music (Australia)
