Gojira had been planning to spend the second half of summer 2012 touring North America with Lamb of God and Dethklok. Unfortunately, Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe‘s incarceration in the Czech Republic forced the cancellation of that tour. But the band has booked a string of intimate gigs along the East Coast and in the Midwest, including a slot on the second day of Knotfest, the two-day, two-state event curated by their labelmates, Slipknot.

Gojira‘s L’Enfant Sauvage, which came out last Tuesday, June 26, has sold nearly 11,000 copies in its first week, vaulting the band all the way up to #34 on the Billboard Top 200 album charts! They went Top 10 in their native France, landing at #7 there. By comparison, the band’s last album, 2008′s The Way of All Flesh, sold just over 4000 copies in its first week.
