Loudwire issues that Avril Lavigne recently released a video for her song ‘Hello Kitty’ and the clip has not only been mocked for its musicality, but it’s also been accused of being insensitive to Japanese culture. The pop star replied to the criticism in a tweet, but that hasn’t stopped people from poking fun at the clip.
While there have been many that are critical of the song, which was co-written by Lavigne’s husband, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, the band Woods of Trees have offered their own unique tribute to Lavigne’s ‘Hello Kitty.’ The black metal outfit just shot their own dark video with some morbid lyrics — essentially going the complete opposite direction of Lavigne’s original.
The corpse paint-covered WOODS OF TREES took to a nearby forested area as the final few hours of light began to set, providing the perfect amount of darkness to match the song. They also took some liberties with the lyrics, belting the darkly comedic lines, “Let’s be frienz forever / Then kill Varg together / Come and make a snuff film with me.”
