I AM I Confirmed For Acoustic Show At Download Festival

BJF Media has issued that I AM I have now been confirmed for an Acoustic performance at 2.40pm on Sunday on the Jagermeister Acoustic stage at Download, as well as their electric show at 19.55pm later that evening on the Red Bull stage.

They are also doing a promotional/signing session along with States Of Panic at the Metal Family stall out in the Zippo arena on Saturday, 2.45 to 3.45pm. This is to promote the Headbangers Balls tour on which both I AM I and States Of Panic will be playing, of which all profits are going to the Teenage Cancer Trust so not only is it going to be fun, it’s for a good cause too!

I AM I: Line Up Change, Announce UK And European Shows And Festivals

We are delighted to announce that guitarist Andy Midgley has joined I AM I full time and has been tearing it up on the road with the band on their Skid Row tour. He fitted in seamlessly from the start and is now bringing a whole new dimension to the band’s live show. Unfortunately, due to work and family commitments, Jake Thorsen decided to step down from his role in I AM I and we wish him all the best for the future.

Tours

The Skid Row/I AM I/Buffalo Summer tour ended in great style at a sold out Islington Academy on Saturday with all 3 bands getting up on stage to sing the final Skid Row song ‘Youth Gone Wild’, a fittingly raucous end to what was a 2 week blast of some damn fine rock n roll!

After this fantastic tour, I AM I will be making their first foray into Europe and head off into Italy at the start of May for a couple of shows before gearing up for their Download Festival slot. There are still a lot of dates to be announced both in the UK and Europe and these will be released as soon as they’re confirmed.

TANK: Announce ZP THEART To Join For 2013 Shows

British metallers TANK have announced via their official website and facebook page, that former DRAGONFORCE frontman ZP Theart will be joining the band on stage for the rest of the year, while Doogie White is on tour and recording with Michael Schenker. Here is what the various band members had to say:

“We are very pleased to announce that while Doogie White is out on tour and recording in the studio with Michael Schenker’s ‘Temple of Rock’ , we will have the pleasure of being joined on stage for all our 2013 shows by our good friend and former Dragonforce frontman ‘ZP Theart’. “

MICK TUCKER -
“We thrive on bringing fresh blood into the band. It gives us a good kick in the ass and breathes new life into our songs. We’ve worked very hard over the past few years and have been rewarded with the success of our ‘War Machine’ and ‘War Nation’ albums and the release of our first official DVD ‘War Machine Live’.
Bringing in a world class vocalist like ‘ZP’ is a great privilege for us and a real treat for metal fans.“

CLIFF EVANS -
“Mick and me have been playing together for a long time. We know what we want when it comes to making good music. We’re very proud of the albums we made with Doogie’s and the response we received from the fans and press has proved that we are a band that can deliver the goods when it comes to it.

I AM I will release their cover of John Farnham’s classic 80′s track ‘You’re The Voice’ on December 10th on digital format, distributed worldwide by Plastichead and available from all the usual digital outlets.

Their rocking, feel-good cover of John Farnham’s classic 80′s song had been received exceptionally well on the band’s recent tour with everyone singing along with the memorable chorus of this great track, leading them to decide to put it out as an end of year single.

ZP also felt that the lyrical content of the track was especially relevant in this current era, mirroring what’s actually happening with the us all right now & making the timing for the single release perfect.

Written by Andy Qunta, Keith Reid, Maggie Ryder and Chris Thompson, ‘You’re The Voice’ was originally released by Aussie singer John Farnham in 1986 and was a smash hit, reaching the top 10 in most European countries.

‘Event Horizon’ to be released digitally worldwide on 10th December

I AM I’s debut album ‘Event Horizon’ will also be released worldwide on digital format on December 10th. This album had previously been released exclusively throughout Europe but due to the increasing demand for the release throughout the US, Americas, Australia and other territories, the decision was made to go ahead and release it digitally worldwide.

I AM I Cancel Brighton Date

I AM I – featuring former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart – have been forced to cancel their show scheduled for October 29th at The Haunt in Brighton, UK.

Says the band: “This was out of our control but to make up for it, everyone who bought a ticket for the gig in Brighton, if you can show proof of purchase (even if you got a refund) and get to the gig the next night in Southampton, we’ll get you in for free! This is also going to be the last show this time round, so it’s be guaranteed to be a great one and a fitting end to what’s been a fantastic first tour!

In addition to playing an electric set at this year’s edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival — which was held August 9-12 at Catton Park, Derbyshire in the United Kingdom — I AM I, the new band led by former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart, took part in a short acoustic performance at the event.

Fan-filmed video footage of the acoustic show — which included cover versions of BON JOVI‘s “Wanted Dead Or Alive” and BRUCE DICKINSON‘s “Tears Of A Dragon”, as well as an original song, “Stay A While” — can be seen below.
