In Solitude, after having spent several weeks crisscrossing North America with Behemoth, Watain, and The Devil’s Blood, are finally ready to unveil their first music video. To Her Darkness, the atmospheric new video directed by Johan Bååth, is streaming exclusively via Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy feature. The track is the sixth cut from In Solitude’s most recent album, The World.The Flesh.The Devil.

In Solitude’s vocalist, Hornper, elaborates on the creative process behind the new piece of art… “We have now explored her further. This time in a field within which we’ve undeniably have had very little experience nor vocation. It’s a series of portraits. Attempted visual translations. A fragile breach. Mirroring certain aspects and fragments of the experiences lying in the basis for the song’s emergence, and its lyrics. The creative collaboration Johan Bååth and everyone involved was a very rewarding experience for us. And as our first attempt with this medium, we are very thankful to him for working with us. Not to mention his crew and the great contribution of Anna Norberg, Erik Danielsson and Marie Larsson, for which we are incredibly grateful.”

IN SOLITUDE will join AMON AMARTH and Grand Magus on their spring tour that kicks off in Glasgow on March 13, 2012.

The Swedish outfit return after destroying at their debut UK show at Live Evil in October 2011 and catching the eye of labelmates AMON AMARTH who were looking to bring an intense package to the UK and Ireland.

IN SOLITUDE has been declared “one of the hottest new metal acts around” by Decibel Magazine while Metal Hammer described the band as “Structurally and melodically complex, densely layered yet dynamic and fluid, often enthralling, always engaging, this is a metallic Feast.”

The band’s Metal Blade debut, The World.The Flesh.The Devil was released in May 2011 and stands as a “trad-metal charge of Iron Maiden with doom metal’s ironclad grey” according to Kerrang! Magazine.

Additionally, Terrorizer heralded The World.The Flesh.The Devil as their “album of the month” in issue #210.

The Devil; “We have chosen not to feed everyone our personal perception of the title and not to over-analyze it in interview, because we want the listeners themselves to rely on what the title evokes in them personally, and find their own way of perceiving it. The title and the specific song & poem that carries its name is very significant to what this album reveals and deals with, and if you read and listen to it carefully and close to heart; all answers shall come.”

Uppsala Sweden’s IN SOLITUDE have set the track Serpents Are Rising as the group’s first single off their upcoming debut full-length The World.The Flesh.The Devil, in stores in Europe May 20/23. Decibel Magazine is hosting the exclusive premier on their website HERE so be sure to check it out and leave a comment on the track.

Vocalist Hornper comments on the behalf of IN SOLITUDE: “Certain fragments of Serpents are Rising are among the oldest parts of The World.The Flesh.The Devil and the song was steadily taking form throughout the whole writing and recording process, and the last parts were put together just minutes before it was recorded. It is certainly one of the more straight-forward and stabbing-paced songs on the album and I think it’s a worthy representative of that erupting energy of the album, as well as the self-sacrifice made. The poem was written by Viusiudad (of Reveal) and was given a title and put in song-context myself. And like everything with brother Viusiudad; a strange, holy and collaborative effort. Blessings to him! And the poem deals with the ever-present, ever-guiding and ever-rising inner serpent.”

But as we came across the exceptional and amazing world of Jesse Peper, and the specific shadow portrait you see on the cover (not to forget the ones that live within its pages), it was as if we all remembered something. Like out of a dream, or distant memory. Of a face that told us to step into this darkness; the darkness in which the seeds of IN SOLITUDE grow and bloom. Swedish occult Heavy Metallers IN SOLITUDE have revealed the tracklisting and cover artwork for their upcoming new album “The World. The Flesh. The Devil” due for release on May 20/23 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

“The World. The Flesh. The Devil” has been recorded in Nicke Anderson’s (Hellacopters) brand new studio Gutterview Recorders in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Fred Estby (Dismember, Death Breath) at the helm. The album features 8 songs clocking in at 58 minutes!

Comments the band: “One and a half year has passed since we started writing the album. It’s not much, I guess, but it feels like a lifetime. And we are still quite amazed of how life-threatening and beautiful this piece of work turned out. We don’t want anyone to expect anything besides growth – which is essential, musically and lyrically. And it will speak for itself.

I guess we were doing things more “point-blank” when it came to the songs on the last record. It´s still the same procedure when we record, of course, but in a larger spectrum, yet with far more focus. And this way we’ve been able to really make the experience go far deeper, and we’ve made it larger, to an extent where it really communicates with the emotion and the energies that drives us. The material did communicate on the last record as well, of course it did, but this time it´s almost more of a communion rather than a communication. This time around we’ve had far more knowledge about (and at one with) the emotion and energies that drives us. It´s a beautiful thing.

It is very hard to explain the nature of making a record. But it was a really great experience. It really felt like we were packing our bags and gathering ourselves before leaving this place forever. On burnings paths into the night we can´t wait to share that trip with everyone.”
