Former HELLOWEEN, LION’S SHARE, EDEN’S CURSE Members Join Forces In TAINTED NATION

U.K. modern hard rock band TAINTED NATION has signed a worldwide management deal with Germany’s Rock N Growl Management.

TAINTED NATION is:

* Pete Newdeck (EDEN’S CURSE, GRIM REAPER, KILLERS, STEVE GRIMMETT) – Vocals
* Pontus Egberg (THE POODLES, LION’S SHARE, ZAN CLAN) – Bass
* Ian Nash (STEVE GRIMMETT, LIONSHEART) – Guitar
* Mark Cross (FIREWIND, OUTLOUD, HELLOWEEN, KINGDOM COME) – Drums

Rock N Growl and TAINTED NATION are currently shopping the band’s debut album, “F.E.A.R.”, produced by Pete Newdeck and mixed/mastered by Dennis Ward, in hopes of securing a record deal very soon.

Newdeck, who is mostly known for his work with EDEN’S CURSE and bands like GRIM REAPER, KILLERS and Steve Grimmett, started writing songs with bandmate and friend Ian Nash, who also played guitar for Grimmett, in 2009.

While with EDEN’S CURSE and supporting STRATOVARIOUS and FIREWIND in May 2009 on their U.K. tour, Pete and then-FIREWIND drummer Mark Cross became close friends and discussed the idea of forming a new band, only this time with Newdeck as the lead singer.

Newdeck‘s vocal abilities were truly convincing and in the spring of 2010, Pontus Egberg, bass player for Swedish hard rockers THE POODLES, completed the lineup.

Newdeck, Nash, Cross and Egberg recorded the TAINTED NATION debut album in the U.K. and mixed and mastered it in Germany under the supervision of Dennis Ward, producer of many successful international artists.

TAINTED NATION‘s music is described in a press release as “a commercial, modern and powerful-sounding rock mix.” Source: Blabbermouth.net

LION’S SHARE Continuing Work On New Material

Swedish melodic metal masters LION’S SHARE have issued the following update:

“The songwriting for the seventh LION’S SHARE album is going great. So far we have music and vocal melodies written for six new songs that we are really excited about.”

LION’S SHARE‘s critically acclaimed “Dark Hours” album was released in March 2009 via Blistering Records. The follow-up to 2007′s “Emotional Coma” was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST, AMON AMARTH) and features a guest appearance by SYMPHONY X guitarist Mike Romeo (solo on “Behind The Curtain”).

LION’S SHARE played a couple of songs with legendary drummer Vinny Appice (HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, DIO), during his Scandinavian Drum Day appearance on October 30, 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden.

LION’S SHARE was the main band that performed during the Ronnie James Dio tribute concert that took place on the Sweden Rock Cruise on October 7, 2010, with guest appearances by current and former members of such bands as IN FLAMES, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, KING DIAMOND, STRATOVARIUS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and AMON AMARTH.

Swedish melodic metal masters LION’S SHARE performed a medley of the songs “Heaven And Hell” (BLACK SABBATH) and “We Rock” (DIO) as a tribute to legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio this past Saturday, May 7 at the Karmøygeddon metal festival in Haugesund, Norway. Swedish Heavy Metal Musicians Pay Tribute To Dio On Sweden Rock Cruise

Some of Sweden’s finest heavy metal musicians gathered to pay tribute to Ronnie James Dio during this fall’s edition of the Sweden Rock Cruise, which sailed on October 7, 2010 from Stockholm, Sweden for Åbo, Finland and returned the following day. There was a long tribute concert with a number of guest musicians performing classic songs from Dio’s career with a main band consisting of members of Lion’s Share.

The following artists were scheduled to perform with LION’S SHARE at the event:

Björn Gelotte and Peter Iwers (IN FLAMES), Joacim Cans (HAMMERFALL), Ian Haugland (EUROPE), Mikael Åkerfeldt (OPETH), Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS, ex-DIO), Messiah Marcolin (ex-CANDLEMASS), Johan Edlund (TIAMAT), Joakim Berg and Magnus “Adde” Andreasson (HARDCORE SUPERSTAR), Johan Hegg (AMON AMARTH), Mike Wead (BIBLEBLACK, KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE). The show ended with all artists performing Hear ‘N Aid’s “Stars”.
