Finnish gothic metallers UNSHINE will release their third album, “Dark Half Rising”, on August 23 via Massacre Records. The artwork for the CD was created by Jan Yrlund at Darkgrove Design (KORPLIKAANI, EDGE OF SERENITY, TÝR, IMPERIA). Songtitles set to appear on the effort include “The Oath To Wilderness Of Unredeemed Nature”, “Idyl”, “Defender Of His Faith” and “Ikuinen Taistelu”.
UNSHINE in 2010 parted ways with Low Frequency Records after releasing two full-length CDs through the label.
The band’s second album, entitled “The Enigma Of Immortals”, came out in April 2008.

British symphonic metallers DAMNATION ANGELS have inked a deal with Massacre Records. The band’s debut album, “Bringer Of Light”, was mixed and mastered by Scott Atkins at the Grindstone Studio in Ipswich, U.K. and will be released on February 22. The cover artwork was created by Jan Yrlund of Darkgrove Design.
DAMNATION ANGELS was formed in late 2006 and has gained a reputation for huge drum beats, monstrous riffing, powerful and expertly performed vocals — all blended with the massive power of the orchestra.
Their “Shadow Symphony” EP was released in 2009 and got rave reviews.
They’ve perfected their live performance while playing many shows in the U.K., sharing the stage with such bands as SABATON.

“Sense The Darkness”, the new album from Danish extreme metallers ILLDISPOSED, has entered the official chart in the band’s home country at position No. 78. Released on September 21 via Massacre Records, the CD was recorded at Antfarm Studio in Aabyhøj, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST, SICK OF IT ALL). Austrian extreme metallers MASTIC SCUM will release their fifth album in March 2013 via Massacre Records. The band states, “Three years after our last CD, ‘Dust’, (Twilight Records) we are back with a heavy load of new riffs and structures.
“We are almost at the end of a long road of rehearse and working on new tunes! At the time we are still working on the pre-production of 10 tracks.
“The new songs are shaping up in a new brutal style and also on a higher technical level. With this release, we went back to our roots putting some experimental parts and also we made a big step forward to new structures and rhythms.”

MASTIC SCUM in 2009 parted ways with vocalist Will due to “musical differences” and replaced him with Maggo Wenzel (INZEST, TRISTWOOD, WATCH ME BLEED).

Poland’s Metal Mind Productions released an exclusive box containing SINISTER‘s full discography in February 2011. Entitled “Altered Since Birth”, the set contains eight studio albums, a live DVD, a compilation of demo tracks, plus a booklet containing a full biography based on an exclusive interview, the complete discography, lyrics to all songs and a selection of amazing archive photos. The cover artwork was created by the well-known Polish graphic designer Graal.

Formed in early 2009, RETALIATORY MEASURES released its first demo a few months later and followed it up with a second promo CD, “MMX”, in 2010.

Regarding the musical direction of the new material, vocalist Jape Perätalo previously stated, “[The next TO/DIE/FOR CD] is gonna be much darker compared to [2006's] ‘Wounds Wide Open’, but it will include some rocking ones, too.”
He added, “We are not trying to create anything very ‘technically nice’ and very ‘new’… We just record whatever the fuck we want to . . . We’re gonna keep things simple but one thing is important for us… it must have real soul in it!”
TO/DIE/FOR released a “best-of” collection, “Epilogue From The Past – Best Of”, in January 2011 via Spinefarm Records. Included on the set was the brand new song “Angelica”.
