KATAKLYSM/EX DEO singer Maurizio Iacono checks in with his plans for the next five weeks:
“Flying to Canada next week for rehearsals and [hoto shoot, approve all mixes for new Kataklysm album, prepare liner notes for new album and reissues, prepare world tour campaign with Kataklysm management and agents, hang out with my kid as much as possible, find time to put updates on FB.
Following week… August: UK Bloodstock Open Air for Ex Deo and Kataklysm, shooting a new videoclip in Serbia for Kataklysm for the new album, getting married to my gorgeous girlfriend (pictured below) in Florida, go on honeymoon, then fly from there to Austria to start the Ex Deo tour with NILE on September 2nd.
Make sure all my artists are in check with their respective campaigns, strategies and touring for Hard Impact, make sure all tours are handled on RTN USA with 2014 already in the mark. The nickname “Rambo” I’ve been given from my partners and friends is suiting me well.”
Kataklysm previously issued the following update in regards to their forthcoming concept album, Waiting For The End To Come:
“We will release two different, incredible artworks for the new album, Waiting For The End To Come, by two acclaimed artists, one by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED), and the other by Peter Sallai (SABATON), with different formats CD, Deluxe Digipak, LP and including a return to a limited edition cassette format (just like back in the day)!
We are anxious to release these new artworks to you guys, maybe next month? The new album is in mixing mode with producer Zeuss (SUFFOCATION, Hatebreed, SOULFLY). Looking like a promising year for the mighty Kataklysm and a return to pure power. A world tour is in the works.”
Kataklysm will film a new music video in Belgrade, Serbia next month with acclaimed director Ivan Colic from iCode Productions (EX DEO, SOILWORK, MOONSPELL, ALESTORM, KAMELOT), whose previous work includes Kataklysm’s ‘Push The Venom’ video and Ex Deo’s ‘Romulus’ and ‘Final War (Battle Of Actium)’ videos.
Filming will commence in August for “a very ambitious & sick” video clip for the song ‘Elevate’ from Kataklysm’s forthcoming Waiting For The End To Come. According to the band, the plan is to bring the viewers into a visual masterpiece of chaos, a chaos based around the ideals of death, the purpose of life, the human factor, and the semi-coma state that most people in this world exist in.
Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono states: “In a nutshell, we believe we wrote the most intense, intricate storyline for a video clip ever made in death metal and our genre. Big statement? Well, we’ve got big ideas and we need to put it to life with crazy visuals. We hired the man who has the balls and the artistic capacity to execute this task plus one of the best special FX teams in Europe to back him up. It’s time to up the game. We’re back and we’re swinging hard.”
Kataklysm’s Waiting For The End To Come will be released worldwide this October.
Kataklysm recently issued the following update: “A world club tour is in the works in support for the new mega album Waiting For The End To Come; the band will start its campaign with Canada, Australia, Japan and Europe from November to February 2014 as part one of the massive campaign. Mixing mode of the new album is about to begin (with Zeuss), rehearsals are underway, Bloodstock in the UK is next in August and the world is about to tremble. New death metal hymns, from the worlds most lethal road warriors are coming.”
Song-titles include: ‘If I Was God…I’d Burn It All’, ‘Under Lawless Skies’, ‘Kill The Elite’ and the cover of SACRED REICH’s ‘The American Way’. Waiting For The End To Come will feature drummer Oli Beaudoin, formerly of NEURAXIS, behind the kit in place of Max Duhamel who left the band due to personal issues with alcohol.
