Furthermore, ANGELUS APATRIDA are currently working on a re-release edition of their first two albums, “Evil Unleashed” (2006) and “Give ‘Em War” (2007), both of which have become rare and requested items after years of being tough to find on the market. The re-release version via Century Media Records will gather both albums onto a 2CD package to be entitled “Evil Unleashed / Give ‘Em War” and will also see the songs become available digitally for the very first time worldwide.

The creative team involved with this special re-release is staying the same as on the band’s last two albums, “Clockwork” (2010) and “The Call” (2012): Daniel Cardoso has been handling re-mastering duties for the material and Gustavo Sazes / Abstrata (Arch Enemy, Firewind, Dream Evil, etc.) is responsible for revamping the artwork. “Evil Unleashed / Give ‘Em War” will also include early demo material as bonus tracks and liner notes, etc. Expect a release date for later in the summer 2013.

MESHUGGAH frontman Jens Kidman will be forced to miss the band’s concert tonight (Wednesday, February 13) at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina while he continues to recover from the flu that caused his absence from the group’s performance last night in Atlanta, Georgia.

In an online posting, Kidman said: “I just need to say a few words here guys. I’m truly unable to perform tonight. Again.

“Me not being able to do what I’m supposed to do is really really frustrating and I feel that I’m letting you all down. Not just you, the fans, but the band as well.

“But we try to make the absolute best we can out of this situation.

“So it’s either cancel OR play for you guys anyway. We opt for playing. It’s what we’re here to do. So that’s what we’ll do. With your help, it’ll be awesome.

“I will see the doctor again tomorrow and will hopefully get a green light to perform in Philly. Fingers crossed.

“So a big humble thanks goes out to all of you for your support and understanding!!

“Let the mayhem commence, Charlotte!!!”

Fan-filmed video footage of MESHUGGAH‘s concert in Atlanta — where the band reportedly used a lifesize cardboard cutout of Jens Kidman and his pre-recorded vocal track from a European show — can be seen below.

The DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT and MESHUGGAH have announced a co-headline show with support from PERIPHERY, at the 02 Brixton Academy in London, England on May 3rd.

DevinTownsendMeshuggah

Devin had this to say about the not-to-be-missed show: ‘Well this is an intense turn of events… it’s no secret how much love and respect I have for Meshuggah. They are an anomaly in life, let alone in music, as being a perfectly developed entity that only evolves as a result of there being nothing but honesty in their vision. If you have not experienced Meshuggah live, I truly believe you have not witnessed the elite that this genre has to offer, and to be playing alongside of them again is an honour that I don’t take lightly.

Periphery are a band and a musical entity as well in which I cannot say enough good things about. The potential that band of humans demonstrates together is truly unlimited, and they have a perspective on music that very few folks do, unlimited scope and astounding musicianship. Their new record is beautiful and the people in the band are a constant source of inspiration to me.

To be allowed to participate in this bill is humbling beyond all explanation, and the Brixton Academy is a historic venue that has been on my ‘bucket-list’ to play. By being the best version of myself that I can be we hope to do this show the justice it deserves. An honour and a privilege. We hope to see you there, and the three bands will do you proud. Peace. Devin.”

Tickets officially go on sale February 1st, and pre-sale from January 31st priced at £28.50 (subject to booking fee) at Livenation.co.uk or Ticketmaster.co.uk.

The Age Of Metal spoke with Devin Townsend on January 28th, hours prior his show in Tempe, AZ. He talked about his tour with GOJIRA, the state of his other projects, Epicloud, NAMM and his inspiration at the time to write music. Watch the video interview below:
