DARK TRANQUILLITY singer Mikael Stanne was interviewed for spanish webzine MetalZone last November 15th, before the band’s show in Barcelona. Mikael talked about the present of the band, the situation without a bass player, the future and even his early years in In Flames.
For the release of DARK TRANQUILLITY‘s tenth album “Construct”, a couple of weeks ago, Metal Shock Finland‘s CEO Tarja Virmakari had a chance to have a sympathetic chat with their vocalist Mikael Stanne for Italian Truemetal.it. The opportunity proved to be useful not only to talk about the new album (out today on May 27th via Century Media Records) of the legendary Swedish melodic death metal band, but also to reveal some juicy curiosity about the past and the future of the band. Due to Jeff Hanneman‘s death only a couple of days before the interview, Mikael wanted to give his tribute to this great musician: “It’s a very sad thing and we will miss him very much, not only as a talented musician but also as a man. “He was just a fantastic dude, He had an amazing talent and he is responsible for some of the most important thrash songs of all time that have influenced the whole world of metal.”

Shortly before their 2010 tour with DARK TRANQUILLITY, Finnish melodic death metallers INSOMNIUM recorded the new track “Weather The Storm” with Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY) on guest vocals and performed the song together in London on September 28, 2010. Director Janne Tamminen filmed the show and you can now watch the clip below.
Commented INSOMNIUM vocalist/bassist Niilo Sevänen: “‘Weather The Storm’ music video was shot at Underworld, London last autumn when we were touring with DARK TRANQUILLITY. The house was sold out, we had a great show and people got really crazy — so it was really a night to remember! London, we salute you! Mikael Stanne joined us on stage for this special song so huge thanks to him!”
Added Stanne: “The guys have always impressed me with their stuff so I was honored to be asked to join them on a song. This turned out to be an amazing song. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.”
“Weather The Storm“ is now available as a digital single with the previously unreleased instrumental “Beyond The Horizon” as a B-side.
INSOMNIUM just started recording its new studio album for a fall release via Century Media Records.
