OPERATIKA ‘Going Through A Major Transformation’

New Jersey-based symphonic/power metallers OPERATIKA have issued the following update:

“To stop any ongoing rumors, we’d like to let everyone know that our band is going through a major transformation but please stay tuned for a lot more news to come soon. We’ll reveal details on the changes, new musicians involved, what we are getting ready to do and our plans for the future. Thanks for your ongoing support!”

OPERATIKA‘s debut album, “The Calling”, was released in Europe in October 2008 through Scarlet Records. According to a press release, the album has been described as “the perfect combination of singer Slava Popova‘s harmonious operatic vocals, powerful guitar riffs and solos, melodic keyboard harmonies, intense bass (handled by Michael LePond of SYMPHONY X) and fierce drumming” — a “must-have for every fan of NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS, HELLOWEEN, CHILDREN OF BODOM and PRIMAL FEAR.”

OPERATIKA has previously shared the stage with such internationally renowned artists as NIGHTWISH, HELLOWEEN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TWISTED SISTER, STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA, SEBASTIAN BACH and KAMELOT.

OPERATIKA‘s “Dreamworld” four-song EP came out in 2005.

Former OPERATIKA Guitarist Launches PSYCHOPRISM

Former OPERATIKA guitarist Bill Visser has joined forces with singer Jess Rittgers in a new band called PSYCHOPRISM. The group’s musical style is described as “modern power metal with shred guitar and vocals that resemble KING DIAMOND and QUEENSRŸCHE.”

PSYCHOPRISM is currently working on a demo and is holding auditions for a drummer and a bassist.

SYMPHONY X, OPERATIKA Members Join Forces In ASHENVEIL

ASHENVEIL, a new and ambitious female fronted metal band out of New Jersey featuring OPERATIKA’s drummer Yuri Liakhovitch has joined forces with Mike LePond of SYMPHONY X who recorded bass for the upcoming album Black Of Light to be released this summer.

Described by Mike LePond as “heavy metal sounding BLACKMORE’S NIGHT” the band is poised to shoot the promotional video for one of the songs and complete the full length album by the end of 2012. In the video below Mike talks about the band, the album and some of the individual songs within.
