Actor Larry Hagman, who played J.R. Ewing on the popular television show Dallas, died yesterday, November 23rd, of complications from cancer; he was 81.

Former THE HAUNTED vocalist PETER DOLVING has weighed in on this turn of events:

“So Larry Hagman finally died.

To me that’s great to hear. I never liked the guy. Nor his JR Ewing character.

When I was a kid and Dallas was suddenly the thing EVERYONE talked about, it was unbearable. People actually liked this blatantly evil person. There where no redeeming values, no charm, no kindness, no care, just pure unadulterated repulsive vile psychopathic greed oozing out from the TV-screen and people loved it. LOVED it.

To this day I am still overjoyed every single time someone from that generation, with those values, even if they are people in my own family, dies. It is good. Those people are fucking wicked, malfunctioned shitty human beings, and the fake lovey dovey all-inclusive fuckers out there who live with and excuse themselves through the lies that come with selfserving deception deserve nothing less.

It’s a beautiful thing this inescapable death. Yes. It is utterly devastating when someone you love dies, and most I have almost died my first thought has been ‘FUCK! Not yet!’. But when an asshole dies, the feeling of serene joy fills me. They will do no more harm. I’m sure there will be more to fill their place, but there’s a gap in time where one more asshole just won’t do more damage.

It’s strange; Speaking out what I feel has made it clear to me that I am far from alone in my general outrage with apathy and selfish indifference. Yet everytime I speak, someone’s sore spot is pushed and outraged accusation comes flying. It’s as if people have this ‘Shut the fuck up’-reflex, and a compelling urge to expose themselves.

Triggerwords seem to be stuff like;

Accountablity
Responsibility
Consequence

The parametrers for ‘Good’ seem to have switched place with what I learned was ‘Bad’ when I was a kid. Maybe I got it all wrong. Maybe we’re supposed to NOT love ourselves and each other? Maybe we’re supposed to strive for a greater gap between rich and poor. Maybe lying, betrayal and general ruthlessness is what will make this a great place for our kids? Maybe the financial balance between ie. Mexico, Nigeria, Laos and Europe is great? Maybe it’s cool to be a psychopath? Maybe it’s really is a good thing to bully and harass ones way through life?

I highly doubt it. I don’t find sitcoms or the rest of the so-called entertainment funny. Most of the time they’re just perverse.

A lot of people say things like ‘There’s more than one truth.’ or even ‘There is NO truth’. But that’s actually a false statement.

Truth is very simple and clear. It is the base-factualities that we all share. We are ON a planet. We are under the power of gravity. We breathe the air that has at one time passed the lungs of other human beings. We drink water that has at any given time passed through the body of another living creature. Our organism consists of biological matter that is generated and regenerated of pre-existing matter surrounding us all and whether we like it or not for every action there is a reaction and a consequence.

Is me pointing this out enough to make you angry enough to want to tell me, or anyone else who speaks about the beauty of reality, to shut up? To fuck off? Does it make you want to ouch me?

If so, don’t you think that you had better talk to someone, ie. a shrink, about your obvious issues with reality itself, rather than go trolling?

I mean, we are not REALLY all morons, even though a great deal of us ACT like morons.

We HAVE a choice.

So if someone comments the active moronic choices, it’s not likely going to make you seem LESS moronic, nor take the responsibility of your moronic actions away, jumping at it like a rabid dog? Right?

We. The people. Have these choices to make. Every single day.

I am not preaching, like some said the other day. I am appealing, as one human being to other human beings to be brave and strive for courage and truthfulness. I don’t think that’s weak, lame or cheesy in the slightest.

If you do, have you considered the implications of that?

You don’t have to agree with me. But at least read my thoughts. You might just find some actual inspiration?”

Peter Dolving‘s ROSVO is currently in studio recording new songs. Check out HERE the first web episode recording the drum tracks.

ROSVO is a a sonic cross between houses falling from a great high, very traditional hardcore punkrock and the noisier sides of things. Taking the world of bands like Unsane, early Today Is The Day, or peers ken Mode to another level.
The Rosvo live experience is audience engaging, tight, funny, communicate, and verbally provocative, unlike the jockmentality of many ”muscle & tattoo”-bands in the world of hardcore/metal.

“Theme Park Family Fun”

ROSVO are Hans Simonen, Peter Dolving, Martin Lundgren, David Andersson

Peter Dolving has issued the following:

THIEVES AND LIARS recieves exclusive French release through Deadlight Entertainment. The record is far from the idea of metal and hardcore. Instead “Thieves And Liars” spring from layers of guitars, classic rock, eclectic melodies and even goth. “Thieves & Liars” will be released by the beginning of 2013.

The Cure, New Order, Mark Lanegan are names that spring to mind in describing the record that was recorded in 2011/2012, mixed by SÓLSTAFIR producer Fredrik Reinedahl and mastered by legendary producer/engineer Tue Madsen (HateSphere, Sick Of It All).

On tonight’s “Rock Show” on KillerbunnyTV, former THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving advises host Patrizia Mazzuoccolo on the best drugs to have sex on, discusses his X-rated drawings (ropes and lit candles inserted in delicate orifices) and diagnoses his two favorite former bandmates in THE HAUNTED, Jonas and Anders Björler, with Asperger Syndrome.

Plus, PARADISE LOST guitarist Aaron Aedy gives “Rock Show” the gossip on the band’s current U.S. tour featuring DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT and KATATONIA and why PARADISE LOST is not in the headliner slot. “Funnily enough, the guys in KATATONIA said the same thing,” joked Aedy.

Tune in tonight from 6 p.m. CET on KillerbunnyTV.

Created and hosted by producer Patrizia Mazzuoccolo (formerly of the “Tinitus” show, which aired on Norwegian national radio NRK P3), “The Rock Show” is a back-to-basic production that focuses on diversity, substance and alternative content.

PETER DOLVING, former singer for THE HAUNTED, has written a 203 page papaerback titled Burnvictim.

This collection of tournotes and reflections of reality through the eyes of a touring musician, will have you laughing, gasping, frowning, inspired and provoked. Peter Dolving has spent the last 20 years on tour with different bands all over the world. Always wondering, always questioning, the myths, the actions and reaching deep into the psyche of himself, but also of our mutual understanding of reality as it unfolds before us. A truly entertaining read, and an insight into a bizarre side of society.

Dolving states, “Go buy it, if nothing else it’ll be that book in the shelf that will catch your friends eye and have them going; ‘Dude can I borrow it?!’”

Burnvictim is currently available via Lulu.

Former THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving will release a solo album entitled “Thieves And Liars” on October 24.

Regarding how the effort came together, Dolving said, “Beginning in July 2011, I had come to a place in my life and art where for some reason I knew, this is it. No more adapting to groups, superficial ideas of genres, or styles. I started recording, with no censoring, complete flow of conciousness. Free creation. Finally. Without restraints. And I made a couple of songs every weeks, it just kept pouring out. I realized this was a truly inspired record falling into play.

“As the songs kept coming, I asked Per Möller Jensen, who I’d been playing with in THE HAUNTED for 10 years if he would like to play on the record, and he was completely open for diving into it. He explained he wanted time to really put his heart into and certainly he did. Mixing an amazing classic rock feel and a energetic inspiring jazz influence his drums blew my mind as I heard what he had come up with for the songs.

“I spoke to [producer] Tue Madsen, who I had befriended during hours of work with THE HAUNTED, we share a deep love of music and we decided that he would master. Fredrik Reinedahl who got involved with HOUSE OF DOLVING back when we started recording in 2011 has become a dear friend along the process. We met each other for the first time back in summer of ’95 and he kept playing stuff to me that I really love that he had or was mixing. BURST, PASSENGERS, ABANDON and later SOLSTAFIR. The man is a bona fide sound wizard and really one of the smartest, loving people I know.

“And a year after a couple of hundred alone long nights at end, it’s all in place. This is ‘Thieves And Liars’.

“I really hope you will enjoy it as much we have making it.”

“Thieves And Liars” track listing:

Previously a vocalist for MARY BEATS JANE, Dolving joined THE HAUNTED in 1997 and sang in their debut self-titled album. In 1998, he left the group to concentrate on a band called ZEN-MONKEY but returned in 2003 following the departure of Marco Aro (the vocalist which took over Dolving‘s spot after Peter’s 1998 exit). He has since appeared on the studio albums “Revolver” (2004), “The Dead Eye” (2006), “Versus” (2008) and “Unseen” (2011).

Three days after posting a lengthy statement on his Facebook page in which he attempted to explain his reasons for leaving Swedish metallers THE HAUNTED in February of this year, vocalist Peter Dolving has returned with another rant, this time clarifying his reasons for going public with the group’s dirty laundry.

Dolving writes: “So regarding my statement on THE HAUNTED; I am not looking for drama. Fuck that. I am not carrying a grudge. I’m simply putting the reality of their actions on the table.

“If I would have continued shutting my mouth about I would just have continued participating in the dysfunctionality. I have chosen not to. I have music, creativity, love and shitloads of really cool fans who are not interested in belittling introverts and trolls on Blabbermouth.

“If you like AT THE GATES, THE HAUNTED and even the twins [THE HAUNTED/AT THE GATES guitarist Anders Björler and bassist Jonas Björler], that’s perfectly alright. It good to have something to like.

“No one is taking anything from their artistry; they are skilled and talented. You don’t have to take sides. Seriously. I just don’t want it to be some deep dark secret. That type of shit wears life out.

“My rage and actual bitterness is perfectly justified. They took food from my table. Anyone who’s ever been laid off or screwed will identify.

“Now, on the other hand, if my art, my words, my thoughts provoke you, that just reveals your intolerance. Which is fucking sad, because because it’s 2012, and carrying around moral codes and a view on reality as if it 1912, is just, well, really really fucking sad. Really.

“The world my friends, is changing. We can push forward or fight it it, but it’s not going to stop it. Things change. Normality is not being a conservative dick, held back by fear and intolerance. Normality is the air between you and me, all those other things are you inside you, in battle with reality.

“Just saying.”

He has since appeared on the studio albums “Revolver” (2004), “The Dead Eye” (2006), “Versus” (2008) and “Unseen” (2011).

THE HAUNTED‘s seventh studio CD, “Unseen”, sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The effort landed at position No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

“Unseen” was released on March 29, 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD was once again recorded with longtime producer Tue Madsen (MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST, SICK OF IT ALL) at his Antfarm Studio in Århus, Denmark.

Former THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving has posted a lengthy statement on his Facebook page in which he attempts to explain his reasons for leaving the band in February of this year. He writes in part, “I left THE HAUNTED back early this spring because I had fucking had it with dysfunctional bullshit.

“The day the Björlers [guitarist Anders Björler and bassist Jonas Björler] decided to tell tell us about the AT THE GATES ‘farewell tour’ (the farewell tour now on its third year), we were releasing and promoting ‘Versus’.

“They told us that they would only do 14 shows. They are still touring….

“They have really cashed in to the fullest. Good for them. It’s good to have money in a capitalist world.

“[Guitarist Patrik] Jensen is the one who saw clearly what was up.

“The moment they told us, his response was, ‘You know this is going to kill THE HAUNTED.’ The twins were both extremely defensive about it, and now we know why. They were lying out their ass.

Jensen ain’t no dumb-ass. He made another WITCHERY record, toured like a sonofabitch with his project and got a degree in the meantime.

“Good for him.

“It’s good to have a degree in a capitalist world.

“I caught on slower, but I figured it was fucking ridiculously slow that making ‘Unseen’ took 2 years. I must have written 40 fucking songs for that record. Every time I presented something, it wasn’t ‘played well enough to really hear what’s going on’ or ‘it’s not THE HAUNTED.’ Jonas presented some amazing ideas. But there was no heart.

“I am not a very cheerfulful person. I prefer working to hanging out. Because I love my work more than I love people. I don’t lie or pretend it’s any other way. But anyone who knows me will testify that I am not a lying, unloyal, uncaring, indifferent fucking prick whose emotional incapacities render me void of treating people respectfully.

“Rock and roll for me is about love, hate, life and how we live it. It’s vivid, aware, right here. Indifference and shutting each other off is the diametric opposite. Watching your back because you care more about your pension plan than your fellow travellers, avoiding confrontations because one is lazy and a coward, etc., is just not fucking cutting it.

“They broke my fucking heart.”
