Midlands thrashers REIGN OF FURY have announced that their highly anticipated follow up to 2012’s World Detonation will be released on 27th FEBRUARY 2015. Title DEATH BE THY SHEPHERD the band have promised a heavier offering showcasing their development as a band through extensive touring over the last two years.
The band said “The album takes off where World Detonation finished and brings a much more aggressive edge to our sound. Our experiences, gigs, and rehearsals over the last two years seem to have naturally added a faster backbone to a lot of the music, and the band have pushed themselves to their limits from a technical point of view… the result is still 100% Reign of Fury, but this time there’s a lot more Fury! We think there may be one or too unexpected turns on this album, and we’re super excited about taking these tunes out on the road.“
Reign Of Fury are known for their creative artwork (see above) and visuals. The band went on to say this about the new albums art direction, “We’ve gone back to our regular artist, and part of the Reign of Fury family, Matt Dixon. Our manager Andy is also our creative director and he and Ed (lead guitar) worked very closely to develop a cover that stays true to our love for old school metal albums. We like to provoke a reaction, but in true metal traditions rather than high brow concept art. The title ‘Death Be Thy Shepherd” is probably enough explanation as to what’s going on! One very cool addition to the cover is that it also features four of our fans who pledged on a Kickstarter campaign to get their faces painted into our album art!”
Recorded at Abatis Studios in Warwick, the album will once again utilise the same team with Production by Jon Priestley and Dave Cleaves, and Mastered in Belgium by Nicolas Decléve.
The album will launch on CD with Moshtunage, with a special edition Vinyl release to follow.
Reign of Fury are:
Bison – Vocals,
Jon Priestley – Lead Guitar ,
Ed Fury Westlake – Lead Guitar,
Magic Dave – Drums,
Paul Bielby – Bass.
Headbangers Balls organiser Andy Pilkingon talks about the reasons behind this years Kickstarter Campaign:
In 2013 REIGN OF FURY vocalist Bison Steed marked five years free of testicular cancer, that’s the Nation Cancer Institutes time frame to be declared officially ‘cancer-free’. They wanted to put on a little show to celebrate… one thing led to another and in the searing heat of mid summer 2013 Reign of Fury played host to the inaugural HEADBANGERS BALLS tour. Twelve UK dates, with 50 bands including special guests such as Hatebreed and Xentrix. All bands played for free. All bands played for their lives. Much fun was had.
The unbelievable part of the tour was that apart from Bison, through no contrived invitations or bias, we discovered that there were SIX other survivors of testicular cancer playing on the tour.
Skip to 2014 and the second tour is nearly mapped out. We have 4 all day events planned, several warm up shows, a game app, a charity single, and more coming your way…
But we need YOUR help to fund the bare bones:
Hiring the venues Transporting the live equipment and crew between shows Leaflets, posters and flyers to get the message out Basic running costs such as water for the bands at the shows This in turn means we sell tickets, and make the REAL money for the charity, whilst at the same time keeping our 24/7 awareness campaign alive.
Will you show your Balls for the cause? We’re doing it for you, for your friends and family, for your kids.

According to Intune PR, West Midlands old school thrashers REIGN OF FURY have started the search for a new bassist to replace Matt Earl, who resigned from the band in late 2014 due to family commitments.
The band, one of the brightest new talents amongst the UK’s emerging metal scene, played Bloodstock in 2012 following the release of their highly acclaimed debut LP ‘World Detonation’, and more recently hosted 2013’s HEADBANGERS BALLS tour with the likes of Hatebreed and Xentrix,
With 2014 looking very exciting for the band with no less than 8 festivals already booked, they also play host to the second Headbangers Balls event towards the end of the year. They are currently writing and recording material for their second studio album.
Andy Pilkington, Manager
“It’s been a big transition for us all since Matt left the group, and you can’t replace family, so we’re putting a lot of careful consideration into who we bring on board to fill his role. Reign of Fury exists because of our passion for what we do, and the closeness of the people involved. We’re very excited to see what the auditions may bring”.
The band have requested video submissions for the first stage, with applicants asked to film themselves playing up to three Reign of Fury songs. Closing date is 1st March 2013.
