Listenable Records has issued that the legendary Bristish heavy metal band SATAN are releasing their new album ‘Life Sentence’ on April 29th in Europe and in May in the U.S.. The cover was drawn by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED, SODOM..) and depicts a similar graphic concept as their debut album entitled ‘Court In The Act’ originally issued 30 years ago . SATAN will assault some European Summer festivals to be confirmed shortly. ‘Life Sentence’ is a very strong uptempo heavy metal album that is undoubtly bound to become a classic of the music genre.

SATAN‘s classic Court In The Act line-up, including singer Brian Ross and SKYCLAD‘s Graeme English and Steve Ramsey, will perform at the Wings Of Metal festival in Montreal, QC. This special event is their first appearance in North America.

Satan is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it. Court In The Act was Satan’s debut release and was considered a true milestone at the time of its release (1983). The songs were melodic, but at the same time very aggressive. The band’s two guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance; although their styles were completely different, they managed to perfectly complement each other’s playing and introduced a handful of timeless riffs and solos. Their new album, Life Sentence, which will be released in March/April by Listenable Records is to coincide with the 30th anniversary of their first LP, Court In The Act.

Tobias Sammet’s project AVANTASIA are the latest act confirmed for Sweden Rock Festival 2013.
Sammet promises an even more celebrity-filled show, which says a lot since previous performances have included such names as Kai Hansen, Michael Kiske, Jørn Lande and Bob Catley. This will be Avantasia’s only show in Sweden for the summer of 2013.
Sweden Rock Festival 2013 will take place June 5th – 8th in Sölvesborg, Sweden.

TORTURE DIVISION, the Swedish death metal project featuring guitarist Lord K. Philipson (THE PROJECT HATE, ex-GOD AMONG INSECTS, LEUKEMIA), bassist/vocalist Jörgen Sandström (VICIOUS ART, THE PROJECT HATE, ex-ENTOMBED, GRAVE) and drummer Tobias “Tobben” Gustafsson (VOMITORY, THE PROJECT HATE), has made a new three-song recording, “Satan, Sprit Och Våld”, available for free download at TortureDivison.net.
