Review by Mohsen Fayyazi
WARNING; The wolves are back with true sharp steel and pure heavy metal again and you cannot ignore their metal greatness.
WOLF is one those Swedish bands who are the banner men of Swedish Heavy Metal Scene, an Icon aside to HAMMERFALL or even Yngwie Malmsteen. Genius in the studio, furious upon the stage, WOLF members can rock the world with their pure steel and energy.
Century Media Records posted the video of WOLF‘s ‘Shark Attack’ on its YouTube channel and they teamed up with Metal Hammer to premiere it. The song is written in pure WOLF traditional style – a mixture of old school elements and modern ones. It starts with speed and power as in ‘Skull Crusher’ or ‘Road To Hell’ and then the very familiar and unique voice of Viper, A.K.A Niklas Stalvind appears. He used more chorus technique in this track, which is really great as you can feel more anger and determination in his voice, absolutely a great choice. The guitar riffs are very well written and the guitar solo, enhanced by Wah-Pedal, matches the other elements in the song. The band painted a genius picture of the sharp steely teeth of a shark.
I have WOLF‘s “Devil Seed” album in my office and I will do my best to review it for you as soon as I can. But for now, enjoy the furious and stalwart ‘Shark Attack':
Kicking off their first major activity of 2014, THE FIRST are set to release their new single ‘Shark Attack’ on April 7th 2014 via independent London label Destroy Everything. The single release coincides with an extensive UK tour with seminal Brit-Rockers LostAlone.
Taken from their 2013 full length ‘Take Courage’ (7/10 Rock Sound, 9/10 Big Cheese) ‘Shark Attack’ is all about attitude. An all-out assault on the senses – a mighty riff, a catchy chorus and a guaranteed mosh pit anthem.
Commenting on the track and tour Benny Salter (vocals) from the band had to say… “We love LostAlone so we’re really excited to be going out on tour with them – we can’t wait to hit the road and give it the big guns, Shark Attack coming to a town near you!”
The First have curated a playlist entitled ‘The First: Best Of British’ featuring a slew of the UKs finest new alternative talent. The playlist will be regularly updated with new and exciting acts – check it out/share it here… http://spoti.fi/1brh8rx
