Switchblade Rosie are a 4 piece Metal/Progressive/Rock from Oklahoma City Along the path of their continual boundary-pushing journey, Switchblade Rosie have had the chance to play Alongside such notable acts as Turbid North (Ironclad Recordings) and Texas Hippie Coalition (Carved Records), as well as release a music video for the song “Nocturnal Guest” in March of 2012. Armed with their jazz and classical-reinforced riffs, their catchy choruses and their desire for continued musical exploration, Switchblade Rosie promise to convert you at the earliest opportunity.

The first song on this is Ep is Shore Of Time it starts off with some lovely work on the piano then it bursts into life with a heavy riff and some heavy vocals. The song also has some pounding drumbeats and some really good guitar work. The next song is simply called VO this song starts off with a good guitar riff the vocals switch between heavy and clean which I think is done very well. Halfway through the song it pauses then bursts into the vocals and some good heavy riffs and solos. The Third song, which is the title song to the Ep, called Nocturnal Guest it starts off slow with good clean vocals and guitar work, it then busts into action for a short time then slows again. This shows how versatile this band is the song goes from slow to heavy in a heartbeat it has some quality vocal, riffs and solos. The Fourth and final song of the Ep is Gale Force Brutality the song starts with a quality riff and some good beats on the drums, the vocals are clean then in an instant it turns into some heavy vocals, then back into clean again it goes really well. The guitar work is outstanding from the riffs to the solos and the drumbeat is top drawer the song doe’s live up to its name in every way quality.

Overall
The Ep is a strong one from start to finish you have quality heavy and clean vocals which have been done to a high standard, The guitar work from the riffs to the solos have been done to perfection. Also the drums are really good they have some real pounding beats, which keeps the timing down brilliantly. All in all it is a very good Ep check it out and see what you think.

Progressive metallers  Switchblade Rosie are premiering the music video for their song ‘Nocturnal Guest’, The video  can be seen below.

‘Nocturnal Guest’ is the title track off the band’s new EP, released this March 17th.
The video was written and directed by the band’s vocalist, Chris Aaron. The following statement from Aaron describes the details surrounding the production and release of the project:
I wrote the entire screen play to coincide with the lyrics of the song.  The video and song are basically about a man who is possessed not only by his inner anguish but by actual demons. While possessed, the main character beats, tortures, and murder’s his victim in a fit of violent rage, he does all this with no remorse or recollection of his malicious acts. Through out the song he has moments of reality where he realizes to an extent what he is actually doing. During the climax of the video he realizes that the only way to get the demon out of his being is by ending his own life and the life of the demonic force within him.

This song was a lot fun to write because it gave me the chance to write from two different perspectives. You’ll notice during the heavier parts of the song there are glimpses of a “hell like” scene. The success of this part of the video is all due to a local suspension group named SBS (Sick Boyz Suspension) as well as local Sideshow acts such as The Captain’s Sideshow, and The Oh No Variety Show. There’s live human suspension, a flesh pull, fire breathing, a bed of glass, as well as several girls from a local promotional/modelling group called The Painted Dolls. The great part about this video is that each time you watch it you are going to catch something that you did not see before.

While this video has been my brain child and an expression of my creativity, I, nor do any of the other members of the band condone violence towards women or violence of any nature. This video could not have turned out as well as it did without the help and support of local Oklahoma artists. We as a band are extremely grateful and humbled by the amount of energy, blood, sweat and tears that went into creating this project. We take pride in the knowing that there has not been a video project quite like this to have come out of the local Oklahoma music scene.
