Finnish metallers THAUROROD have revealed details about their upcoming album via their official facebook page:
THAUROROD leapt out of the Finnish underground in 2010: after the newcomers made quite some heads turn with their first three EPs, their debut “Upon Haunted Battlefields“ put them right on the map with the big players of metal! No wonder they were picked as support act for SABATON`s EU tour– and in 2011 THAUROROD gained even more fans on tour with SYMPHONY X and NEVERMORE.
Their secret for success? Their unique version of epic symphonic metal and power metal! The sixpiece is often compared to genre overlords SONATA ARCTICA, DRAGONFORCE and STRATOVARIUS, but the band has managed to carve a niche of its own.
Just like it was the case with “Upon Haunted Battlefields”, the cover artwork for “Anteinferno“ has been taken care of by Ken Kelly of MANOWAR fame. “I found this masterpiece with all the strong colors of the flames and a warrior on a horse and thought it would fit perfectly, but also would reflect the battle themes and the theme of the last song which is about the world’s biggest horse breed, the Shire horse, which was used in medieval battles ages ago. So I would say it’s a pretty perfect cover for this album!” explains Pasi Tanskanen.

The album will be released in Europe on December 20 through NoiseArt Records and will be available as CD and download. In Japan, the record is due on December 11 via Spiritual Beast featuring an exclusive bonus track called „Japskin Syylä“.

Finnish/Swedish power metallers THAUROROD entered Rockstar Productions studio in the band’s hometown of Hyvinkää, Finland on November 29 to begin recording their sophomore album for an early 2013 release.
The third in a series of webisodes featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the studio can be seen below.
THAUROROD recently announced the addition of Swedish singer Andi Kravljaca (SILENT CALL, SEVENTH WONDER) to the group’s ranks.
Commented the band: “We made two shows with Andi in Finland warming up for WINTERSUN and everything felt amazing and we had so much fun together! He easily impressed the band and the audiences with his energetic performances on both shows… what a crazy dude on stage!”
THAUROROD parted ways with Italian singer Michele Luppi in July. They attributed the split to the fact that Luppi “[didn't] have enough time for THAUROROD” and the group’s desire to find someone who was “more motivated [and] who share[d] the same passion and hunger to go on with THAUROROD as the rest of the band.”
THAUROROD‘s debut album, “Upon Haunted Battlefields”, came out in Europe on September 24, 2010 via NoiseArt Records and Rock The Nation.
Melodic metal warriors THAUROROD entered the studio on November 29th to start the recordings for their new album, which will be released in 2013. The album will be recorded with the new singer Andi Kravljaca. The recordings are taking place for the first time ever, in a studio in the band’s home city Hyvinkää (Finland), at Rockstar Productions.
Their latest studio report can be read below:
“The guys had entered the studio around 15-16 o’clock. The result after the studio day is: drums for three songs recorded! Not bad at all! Emppu was there to record Joonas (yes in hangover) and they only recorded Emppu’s songs today. I only quickly stopped by the studio as Joonas and Emppu were recording the third track.
Just slightly hangoverish guitarist…
Rec is on!
Meanwhile Lasse had recorded backing guitars for one instrumental song we are going to record later. It’s Emppu’s song and we played that track already in Nummirock 2011 and in Metalcamp 2011.
So that’s pretty much all… tomorrow probably recording some songs written by me and by Lasse.
Freezing greetings from Hyvinkää, Finland as it’s minus 18 degrees….hrrrrrrr!”

Within the last month, melodic metal warriors THAUROROD have been looking for a new singer. Now the search is over and the band announce new singer, Andi Kravljaca.
Watch a presentation video below:
Here’s what the band says about their new singer: “As you might know it hasn’t been too easy for us with the previous vocalists. Facing a vocalist change is never easy and facing a lot of them is just something really hard for a band. We went through a lot of vocalist candidates and wanted to pick a guy who can really kill on stage and who is reliable and we can count on him to deliver his 110% input now and always. We wanted to find a guy who is not only our new vocalist but also our very last!
We are so relieved to be able to announce our new vocalist finally! Ladies and gentlemen, the new frontman of Thaurorod is Andi Kravljaca! We made two shows with Andi in Finland warming up for WINTERSUN and everything felt amazing and we had so much fun together! He easily impressed the band and the audiences with his energetic performances on both shows… what a crazy dude on stage!”
Thaurorod will release a new album in 2013 – more info soon.

Finnish power metallers THAUROROD have parted ways with singer Michele Luppi and are seeking a replacement.
Commented the band: “Unfortunately, we have had to let Luppi go as he doesn’t have enough time for THAUROROD and we just see it impossible to go on with him. He is a phenomenal vocalist and we wanted to give him time to complete his duties with THAUROROD. Finally we realized that a right thing to do is to continue with someone more motivated who shares the same passion and hunger to go on with THAUROROD as the rest of the band.”
Requirements for THAUROROD‘s new vocalist/frontman:
01. You have great singing skills.
02. You want to achieve the same goals as we as part of the band and you are willing to work for it as the rest of the group!
03. You have to be awesome on stage.
04. You have to be a nice guy so you get along with us and with others and it’s easy to work with you.
05. You are able to tour at least few months in a year.
06. You are about 20-35-year-old man.
Interested singers should send MP3 audio files or video to firstname.lastname@example.org before August 31.

Finnish/Italian power metallers THAUROROD will perform a brand new track for the first time at the Metalcamp festival in Slovenia next week.
Commented the band: “As a special treat for the old and new fans alike, THAUROROD will premiere a brand new track to be included on the band’s second album, set for 2012 release [NoiseArt Records]. The new song entitled ‘Ghost In Me’ is a fast and melodic song full of emotion. Comparable to the debut album’s hit ‘Shadows And Rain’, the new song will deliver the catchiest of choruses and riffs, driven by an energetic, even aggressive rhythm track and topped with insane solos! Hope you guys are gonna love it.”

Pasi Tanskanen – Bass
Emmi Taipale – Keyboard

Finnish epic power metallers THAUROROD have parted ways with vocalist Markku Kuikka and have replaced him with former VISION DIVINE singer Michele Luppi (in the photo).
Commented THAUROROD in a statement: “Markku left the band during our last tour we did with SABATON and ALESTORM and we had to finish the tour with a replacement singer.
“The reasons why Markku is not in the band anymore is his lack of abilities to perform and to make the show that we absolutely want to give to the audiences that comes to see us on stage. We need to continue with a guy who can make audience go crazy every single night!!!
“We are looking very much forward to our future shows and Power Of Metal tour with Michele! Come to give this Italian gentleman a warm welcome! We already played a show in Nosturi, Helsinki with him and it felt absolutely great to share stage with him!
“Sorry for it took so long to make this announcement about the vocalist situation as there have been a lot of speculation because we finished the last tour with a different vocalist than who is singing on the album. We just wanted to take the time to find the best possible singer for the band first and then announce the news.
“At the moment THAUROROD is composing new material for the second studio album. More updates on this will be posted in coming months.”
