THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Management has issued as follows:

Norwegian 7string guitarist/singer/songwriter “The Commander-In-Chief” has confirmed that she is taking her show to Norway for the first time, supporting Norwegian Metal legends TNT on two of their 30th anniversary shows; November 16th, at Garage in Bergen, and November 17th at Rockefeller in Oslo.

The Chief is very excited and honored to support TNT, a band that  has such an important place in the history of Norwegian Metal/Hard Rock. After living abroad most of her life, she is extremely happy about returning to the city where she was born, Bergen.

She will be supported on stage by AxeWound drummer Jason Bowld, who played drums on her debut EP “Evolution” and her bassist Toshi Ogawa, who played with Jason in Slaves to Gravity. She also brings sound engineer Mani Hammond, who has worked with her since April this year.

Her sensational performance at Bloodstock Open Air festival in August this year (headlined by Alice Cooper and Machine Head) was widely praised by reviewers and fans, with one reviewer saying  “The Commander-in-Chief was a pure boost of guitar shredding force that swept through the arena and had the whole Sophie tent rocking” (nottinghamlive.co.uk).

In September she was featured as “1 of 10 Modern Guitar Gods” in Metal Hammer UK, alongside Alexi Laiho and Tosin Abasi.

She has been confirmed for Metal Hammer‘s own festival, Hammer Fest, in March 2013 and on December 15th she will support Lawnmower Deth at Garage in London.

Since her Bloodstock performance she started to work with booking agent Ben Hylands, IIA Touring. More dates will be announced soon.

The Commander-In-Chier Management has issued the following:

Norwegian 7 string guitarist/singer/songwriter “The Commander-In-Chief” has been nominated for Best Metal Song 2012, by Hollywood Music in Media Awards, for the title track on her official debut EP “Evolution”.
The EP was produced by Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Hatebreed, Hellyeah) and was released digitally earlier this year on Itunes, Amazon, etc. Ringmaster Reviews saying “She is one of the most impressive emerging artists to badger and implore the ear for attention in a long while” and Tastes like Rock Magazine saying “she sets her 7string Ibanez Falchion aflame with her skills”. In addition to The Chief doing all guitars and vocals, the rhythm section consisted of Jason Bowld (AxeWound)  on drums and Andy Saxton (Cry for Silence) on bass.

A limited edition physical copy of the EP was for sale on her very successful PledgeMusic Campaign, which reached 125% of the target, in only 2 months.

Last month Metal Hammer UK featured her as 1 of 10 Modern Guitar Gods, alongside Alexi Laiho and Tosin Abasi. She is currently featured in Metal Hammer Norway, with 2 features in their October issue, and she is on the front page of Firebrand Magazine.

She has been confirmed for HammerFest 2013. On December 15th 2012 she will open up for Lawnmower Deth at The Garage in London.

More live dates and news regarding new songs/releases will be announced very soon.

THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Management has issued as follows:

Norwegian 7string guitarist/singer/songwriter “The Commander-In-Chief” will wrap up a very successful PledgeMusic Campaign in just 2 days. She has managed to reach 123% or her target, with a campaign that has been very efficient and has lasted a very short time, only 8 weeks. The main support has come from fans in the UK and USA with fans from 14 countries contributing.
Among the exclusives her fans can get by pledging is the physical, signed copy of her sensational debut EP “Evolution” produced by Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Hatebreed, Hellyeah). The EP is only available as a digital download on Itunes, Amazon, etc outside this PledgeMusic Campaign.
After her first mini tour in the UK this spring/summer she turned to her fans and asked for their support to keep touring, by launching the Pledge campaign.  A month ago she delivered an incredible performance at Bloodstock Open Air festival, which received outstanding reviews,  and last week she added a new booking agent to her team.
No official statement will be made yet regarding dates and countries for her tour, but she plans to take her show to several European countries soon.

THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Management has issued the following:

In the September issue of Metal Hammer UK, they feature “The new wave of shred. 10 guitarists who are setting the world on fire”. The feature says: “Meet the modern Guitar Gods raising the bar for incredible six-string (and seven- and eight-string) intensity in Heavy Metal”. Among the ten guitarists featured are The Commander-In-Chief, Alexi Laiho, Tosin Abasi and Richie Faulkner. About The Commander-In-Chief, they say: “The Commander-In-Chief is a seven-string-wielding Norwegian uber-shredder who has made it her mission in life to prove that shredding at blistering speeds is not just a male phenomenon. Her recent cover of Black Sabbath classic Paranoid won her legions of fans around the world with its fretboard-burning intensity and operativ vocals.”
The Commander made her sensational festival debut on August 10th at Bloodstock Open Air. She packed the tent with a huge crowd, despite being the first act on Friday morning at the Sophie Lancaster stage. As the reviewer from Metalmouth.net said it: “This Banshee caused my balls to get sucked into hide somewhere near my liver. Not only can she hit notes that shatter glass and blow the lights out, but she shreds her 7string to oblivion. I need to make my way through the crowded tent past the air guitarists to go and find my testicles!”

Video footage of Norwegian seven-string guitarist/singer/songwriter The Commander-In-Chief‘s performance at this year’s edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival, which was held August 9-12 at Catton Park, Derbyshire in the United Kingdom, can be seen below. Also available is an interview with The Commander-In-Chief conducted by Sophie K of Total Rock Radio.

The Commander-In-Chief‘s “Dropout” video was filmed last year in Milan, Italy with producer Elia Turra. This new version of the song was remixed by Sterling Winfield (PANTERA, HATEBREED, HELLYEAH) in 2011. He later went on to produce The Commander-In-Chief‘s debut EP, “Evolution”.

“Evolution” was released digitally on February 15 via Commander Records/The Commander-In-Chief Ltd.

“Evolution” track listing:

01. Thou
02. Famous
03. Evolution
04. Let It Go

In a 2010 interview with Metal Express Radio, The Commander-In-Chief stated about her music, “I used to call it hybrid rock; the power of rock with the message of punk, and the catchiness of pop inspired by metal techniques. NOW my music has taken a more heavy direction than last year, so it’s less punk and more metal.”

Regarding her name, The Commander-In-Chief, she said, “I wanted a powerful artist name, since I’ve always been doing my own thing and still am. I do all the songwriting, guitar playing, singing and I write all the lyrics. For the first demo I made in Chicago I also made my own animated music video which generated quite a buzz on MySpace and gave me all my first fans. I also created illustrations for all my songs, mixing the music with visual arts. I don’t do that anymore though, as I just don’t have the time.”

THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF has issued the following:

Audix USA announced  last night that they have joined forces with Norwegian 7string guitarist/singer/songwriter in Metal “The Commander-In-Chief”. The Chief announced the endorsement deal this morning on her FB and Twitter.

She says this about Audix:
“With my four octave vocal range, which includes a very unique super-sonic register, it is very hard to find a microphone that can handle all aspects of my voice, for live performances. In the Audix OM7 I have found a microphone that can capture all the different harmonies and timbres of my voice in an absolutely fantastic way. I can focus on playing my technical riffs and solos on guitar, without worrying about how my voice will sound. I also use Audix microphones for all the instruments in my line up for live shows”.

Here is the announcement on Audix’s website:

Norwegian singer-shredder THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF has released the music video for her song, “Dropout”,  watch the video below.

The video has been filmed in Milan-Italy in May 2011, only days after she received her prototype Ibanez Falchion 7 guitar. This is the promo video for the Demo version of her song DROPOUT. Recorded in 2010, the song was RE-mixed by Pantera producer Sterling Winfield in 2011, when all the guitars were re-recorded at Alari Park Studios in Milan.

DROPOUT was written in Chicago in 2008, while The Chief attended High School there. More than 25 registered school kids/teens were killed in shootings that school year. But The Chief discovered that the ones that are Dropouts from the school system are not part of the statistics. She got so appalled that she wrote this song about the issue. This song is for all those who are “invisible” and have fallen outside the system.

All guitars and vocals by The Commander-In-Chief. Drums by Hans Menacho. Bass by Lance Morrison. Produced by The Commander-In-Chief. Re-mixed by Sterling Winfield. Mastering by Stephen Marsh.  The video was produced by Elia Turra in Italy. Makeup by Chiara Guizetti, hair by Annalisa Massari.  The Chief has since the shooting of this video endorsed LANEY AMPS and is now the proud to play their IRONHEART amps!
