Metal Blade has issued that SIX FEET UNDER are currently preparing for their next round of tour dates in support of Unborn. The tour begins July 10th in Houston, TX and VIP bundles are available now at http://shop.soundcheckhollywood.com. Six Feet Under founder and vocalist Chris Barnes comments:
“Hello, all you sick fucks! Just wanted to say hello and let all you maniacs know what we’ve got planned for this year. Six Feet Under is about to take to the road once again, starting this month on May 19 in Guadalajara, Mexico for the Heaven and Hell festival. We are very excited to be playing with such greats as Motorhead and Anthrax – two of my all time favorite bands! Also coming up, June 1st we will be in Memphis, TN for the Scion festival with Whitechapel and a whole bunch of other awesome bands, so that’s going to be insane, as well. Then, in the middle of June, we will be heading over to Europe for three festival dates. One of which I’m really excited and can’t wait to take the stage on: HELLFEST in France!! Looking forward to it big time – that date is on June 23, which leads me up to the month of July with our headlining USA tour – Hell in July! Summer tours in the US are always a blast, and this one is set up for sheer devastation with opening bands Decrepit Birth, Cannabis Corpse and Dealey Plaza!

“I would just like to take this time to say and send a personal message to those in Denver, CO as well as Seattle, WA: to Whom it may concern, you may want to stock up and/or possibly grow twice as much cannabis as you have been… because once SFU and Cannabis Corpse roll into those towns, the sheer magnitude of smoking may – 1. Drain the cannabis supply of those two said cities or 2. Possibly cause low cloud formations. Fog lights should be used on all vehicles to and from the concert.

“On a side note, I’m super excited to have the opening band Dealey Plaza join us. They are a really killer new band and put a on a ferocious live show. Drumming for Dealey Plaza is my nephew, Ryley Dipaola.  He beats the shit out of the drums,  and it makes me really, really proud to have my nephew on the road with me! I’m more proud than I can say about that, so I hope everyone will come out to the shows and support all these great musicians and great bands that are on tour with us this summer for Hell in July! And we will see everyone else real soon!! Lots more tour dates to be announced in the coming months, so stay sick and twisted!”

SIX FEET UNDER’s latest album, Unborn, was released on March 19th, and features tracks written in collaboration with Ben Savage (Whitechapel), Jari Laine (Torture Killer), as one of the band’s newest members, guitarist Ola Englund, as well as long time member Steve Swanson.

“This is an irresistible exercise in no-nonsense heavy metal, designed to incite wild moshpits and wilder headbanging…few can deliver quite so many bloody money shots.” Metal Hammer Magazine (UK)

“While the album may be called “Unborn”, thankfully for death metal fans it completes the rebirth of one of the genres most animated characters.” AntiQuiet.com

Metal Blade has issued that Flotsam and Jetsam, arguably one of the most influential and prominent acts from thrash metal’s birth in the early 80s, has returned to Metal Blade Records to release their new album, Ugly Noise. The lead single/title track is available for streaming now on metalblade.com/flotsamandjetsam.

FlotsamandJetsam-UglyNoise

Ugly Noise is the band’s eleventh full-length album, their first release on Metal Blade since 2001, and the follow up to their 2010 album, The Cold. The record also heralds the return of original members Michael Gilbert on guitar and Kelly David Smith on drums, who haven’t recorded with Flotsam and Jetsam since High in 1997.

Flotsam and Jetsam’s Kelly Smith comments on working with Metal Blade: “We have just inked a distribution deal for the release of “Ugly Noise” through Metal Blade Records. Ugly Noise will be released worldwide in late March/Early April of 2013. It was the obvious choice for us after our long-standing relationship and Metal Blades 30 year history of metal. You can’t match what they can do with 30 years of experience behind them. We are excited and looking forward to working with MB in 2013.”

Also, tune into Liquid Metal on SiriusXM this week for a Flotsam and Jetsam interview & Liquid Metal Takeover! Kelly Smith, Eric AK and Michael Gilbert stop by the SiriusXM NYC studios to talk to Jose Mangin about their new album, Ugly Noise, and their current comeback tour with Testament and Overkill. After the hour interview special, the guys host a Liquid Metal Takeover picking out their go-to metal songs.

Metal Blade has issued the following:

Rhode Island doom act PILGRIM will kick off a short run of tour dates on February 24th with SAMOTHRACE. The dates begin in New Orleans on February 24th and the band plans to unveil new material on stage throughout the tour, so fans at these shows will be the first to experience brand new music! For the complete itinerary, visit metalblade.com/pilgrim or the band’s facebook page: facebook.com/hailthepilgrim.

PILGRIM comments on the tour: “It’s been a year since “Misery Wizard” has been released and the positive reaction it has received from fans of heavy music all over the world have been simply fantastic. This upcoming tour is special for us as we will be going to places we’ve yet to perform at and have some new material to unleash. Be forewarned and hails to the supporters!”

At the end of 2012, PILGRIM had the honor of performing at Metal Blade’s 30th Anniversary ScionAV label showcase. Live audio, as well as interviews from the event can be found at scionav.com.

“They plod with vigor, they howl wretchedly, they gnash their musical teeth with glee.” Decibel Magazine

“these Sabbathian hymns to the void are about as close to doom metal perfection as it’s possible to get.” Kerrang Magazine – #43/100 Album of the Year

“Traditional doom junkies rejoice, because ‘Misery Wizard’ is an absolutely brilliant album consisting of six epic, fantastical tracks of crushing, deceptively hypnotic and magickal doom where no singular highlight exists – each track can stand alone – because the entire effort is a highlight.” Terrorizer Magazine

PILGRIM consists of: drummer Krolg Splinterfist, the Slayer of Man, bassist Count Elric the Soothsayer and guitarist/vocalist The Wizard. With a mix of destruction, misery and beauty, these young disciples of doom blend a surprisingly original sword ‘n’ sorcery feel with the classic chest-caving heaviness of the masters, Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Reverend Bizarre and Pentagram. Their thick walls of majestically darkened guitar, massive booming bass, and dangerously powerful yet calculated drumming lull listeners into an intense dream-like trance, abducting them to places they never knew were dwelling within their own minds. Commented Pitchfork: “…in a realm where the old-school and the experimental push against one another in an eternally dynamic non-equilibrium, it’s certainly not about who your influences are. It’s, of course, about how you use them. PILGRIM simply have fun with these predecessors, renewing old sounds with the zeal of teenage boys worshiping cheap Sabbath posters on their bedroom walls and the skills of players who’ve been at this for a while. PILGRIM sing about devils and tears, paying dues and surviving adventures, taking care to touch on most of the requisite tropes while not pushing any one too far… This is an excellent debut from a preternaturally developed upstart.”
