Black metallers ISVIND have recently revealed artwork and track list for their forthcoming album, “Daumyra.” The album will be released on August 15th 2013 via Folter Records. In additon to that, the band has published the cover and tracklist as well as a first impression of the album in form of a rough mix of “Kast Loss, Brenn Alt!”.

UK metallers MONSTERWORKS are going to release their forthcoming album “Earth” on August 20th. The album will be available as a special edition numbered digipak CD signed by the band, with lyric booklet and two bonus tracks.
Vocalist/Guitarist Jon had this to say about the concepts surrounding the album,
“I am intrigued by evolution, not just of biological organisms but also how the physical world changes over time, so it was not that much of a stretch to consider doing an album themed around the life-cycle of Earth; beginning with its origin ‘From Dust and Gravity’ where a clumping together of rock and minerals left over from a supernova explosion formed a globe orbiting an infant star. Each track progresses chronologically, from an early period called the ‘Late Heavy Bombardment’ which is thought to have delivered water and seeded chemical elements that developed into life and what was to be our ‘Last Universal Ancestor.’ Then we move onto a time where cyanobacteria started to photosynthesize and a process of ‘Oxygenation’ paved the way for more complex animals to evolve, ‘Powered by Fate’ as it were. Explosions of life, even when resulting in huge animals like dinosaurs, were often ‘Bookended by Extinction’ events that wiped the slate almost entirely clean until our chance came in the present ‘Aeon of Man.’
Earth honors the seemingly miraculous yet naturally occurring planet on which we live. The title track is the only song that gets a little preachy about our responsibility as custodians of the environment; the rest is just a tale of the sequence of events that got us this far. So take from it philosophically what you will, MONSTERWORKS primarily aims to produce metal which blurs the boundaries between preposterousness and the familiar while hopefully initiating a little independent thought along the way.”

Starting on September 4th, pioneering Pagan Metal vocalist Martin Walkyier will embark on a trio of shows, dubbed ‘Martin Walkyier‘s Viking Funeral,’ that will see the front-man performing classic SKYCLAD material for the final time.

Intended as a swansong that will allow the legendary Pagan Metal vocalist to close the book on SKYCLAD and focus his attention on THE CLAN DESTINED, Martin Walkyier‘s Viking Funeral will consist of three shows in London, Birmingham and Dublin. Portugal’s premier melodic death metal band, WE ARE KILLING OURSELVES (WAKO) join the bill as they start to develop their fanbase in Europe. The opening slot will be filled by Devil’s Clause Records newest signing HELGRIND. The London based thrash metal band who are the main support to WAKO UK Headlining Tour will open with their new album in the process of being mastered. Celtic warriors WAYLANDER and blackened folk metallers CELTACHOR have been added to the September 6th date in Dublin.

Brazilian extreme metallers SOULFLY have revealed the cover art of the band’s forthcoming studio effort, “Savages”, which is set for release on October 4, 2013 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The artwork was created by renowned artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SCARED REICH’s legendary “Surf Nicaragua” cover.
Furthermore, mainman and metal legend, Max Cavalera, commented on the album:
“Recording »Savages« was an amazing experience for me. I was so excited to work with Terry Date, whom I consider to be one of the best producers of all time. He has done some great records and we have been in contact for awhile since he mixed three SOULFLY albums in the past. He came to see SOULFLY whenever we played in Seattle, and we finally made it work that he would be the producer for »Savages«. My teammates were awesome. Marc did some crazy guitar noises and we did a ‘Mars Part Two’ at the end of ‘El Comegente’ – it’s very LED ZEPPELIN influenced and Marc kicked some ass on it. I wrote ‘El Comegente’ with Tony Campos. It’s in Portuguese and Spanish and it’s about Vargas – a Venezuelan cannibal from the 80’s. He is the Hannibal Lecter of the Andes. Crazy shit! I worked for the first time on a full album with my son, Zyon. Before recording the album I first worked closely at home with him in preproduction, and it was great to spend weeks on the songs with Zyon, shaping the sound of the record. Zyon did a great job and he hits really hard just like his uncle Iggor – it was amazing recording with my son. A whole record! WITHERSCAPE marks the long overdue return as active composer and recording artist for Dan Swanö in the world of extreme Metal, after having mostly been involved on the studio mixing end of things in these past years. Granted, “The Inheritance” is not purely a Death Metal release, but it smoothly showcases both the heavier and the mellow sides of Swanö’s creativity and should consequently not only please fans of his earlier efforts like “Moontower” or the Edge Of Sanity catalogue, but also attract friends of progressively atmospheric contemporary Metal in the vein of Opeth, Katatonia or Amorphis.
