Just recently UK’s Modern hard rockers ONE LAST DAY were interviewed by Keith Clement from Metalheads Forever, talking about band’s latest single ‘Out of the Black’ and its story, among other topics were the band’s debut EP, touring, future plans and revealing also that their new album is already in the works.
Just recently ONE LAST DAY unleased their explosive new single, “Out Of The Black” alongside a music video. “Out Of The Black” is mixed and mastered by Meyrick de la Fuente at Floodgate Audio. Video is recorded, directed and edited by Dion Douglas. Buy/stream ‘Out Of The Black’ single at https://ampl.ink/Oldootbsingle
Alex, the vocalist, tells about the song and its story: “Out of the black is a dark tale of abuse at the hands of the most unexpected perpetrators, your partners and loved ones. Although its written lyrically man abusing woman, we know it happens in all kinds of settings, including women abusing men or just humans abusing humans. I wrote this song lyrically a few years ago and I took the inspiration from 2 situations including one of a friend and all I wanted to do was save them, and a previous relationship of my own where I had a scenario where I was being attacked when my partner would drink a bottle of wine and wake up like nothing happened. Fast forward to 2022, myself and the guys have now turned the song into it’s final form and I hope it’s enjoyed by all music listeners out there.”
Earlier the band shared on artwork: “The artwork cover is a film still featuring our dear friend Yasmin Raggett who is the star of our video and really captures the essence of the story.”
Launching in early 2021, ONE LAST DAY are a modern hard rock act coming out of the South-East of England. A heavy and emotive band, their musicality is left wide open to a myriad of rock styles all wrapped up into their own distinctive sound. The band are a powerhouse live act, performing near sellout shows, growing a loyal legion of followers at each gig and getting invited to play increasingly larger shows across the UK.
ONE LAST DAY deliver heavy yet accessible music, combining an eclectic symphony of influences from Hard Rock to Grunge and Metal. This was demonstrated in their debut EP ‘CHAPTER 1: THE END IS THE BEGINNING’ which featured seven gargantuan tracks, including the successful single ‘THIS BOTTLE GOT ME’. From prog stylings to rock ballads, the EP is sure to sate the appetite of those wanting to hear more from this fresh and exciting band. The EP was produced by the band themselves, with mixing and mastering done by IgniteAMR.
It’s an interesting time to be setting out in the industry but ONE LAST DAY have accepted the challenge. These guys have already torn up stages from The Underworld, Camden and The Fleece, Bristol to The Fighting Cocks, Kingston and The Facebar, Reading. So come along for the ride and remember where you heard them first!

US power metal group JUDICATOR have today released their new album, The Majesty of Decay, via Prosthetic Records. In celebration of the release, the band has also shared a new music video for the title track. On The Majesty of DecayJUDICATOR traverses through weighty themes of love, illness and death, familial belonging and transformation from the mortal coil into the afterlife.
Speaking on the music video release, John Yelland (vocals) comments: “This is a video lovingly shot and edited by Austin Bentley, a longtime friend of the band. We decided on aesthetics and a look that are hellish and reminiscent of old film, like a dusty, forgotten VHS tape. The lighting, b-roll, and the song’s themes make for an isolated, dream-like hellscape. We’re very proud of how this turned out.”
As with past releases, The Majesty of Decay is a concept album. But while most JUDICATOR albums have been based on history, this one takes an entirely different direction. The album’s story connects with At the Expense of Humanity, the band’s third album, which recounts singer John Yelland’s experiences watching his older brother die after a long, drawn out battle with cancer.
Whilst the album’s story remains somewhat shrouded in mystery, JUDICATOR utilizes compelling plot devices as a means to encourage fans to piece together the album’s meta-contextual threads. What we do know, however, is that The Majesty of Decay explores the subjects of love, family, and the transformation of suffering into something meaningful. JUDICATOR invites you to step into this world and contemplate how the story might relate to you. The album is a carefully constructed puzzle of mirrors and metaphor that cries out for JUDICATOR fans everywhere to solve it.
What began as a humble homage to their mutual love of Blind Guardian, JUDICATOR have quickly grown into something that has continually had fans begging for more, with JUDICATOR more happy to oblige. With this latest offering, JUDICATOR have delivered yet another thought provoking album that fits nicely into their discography.
With members spread across the United States, recording for The Majesty of Decay was certainly unique. Drums were engineered and recorded by Alex Bosson (Helion Prime, Lunar, Planeswalker). Brass was engineered and recorded by Michael Sasich at Man vs. Music. The album was edited by Will Salazar at Revenant Sound Studios. Reamping and mixing was completed by Carlos Alvarez at Dirty Viking Audio Production. Mastering and sequencing was completed by Brett Caldas-Lima at Tower Studio. In addition, the album features Angel Chatzitheodorou (Angel Wolf-Black, ex-Bare Infinity), whose elegant, powerful voice soars through much of the song Judgment. The beautiful, eerie artwork by Marc Whisnant completes the package.
The ten tracks that comprise The Majesty of Decay are haunting, progressive, and command attention through their adventurous, emotionally cathartic storytelling and pervasive, dynamic atmosphere.
Following their much-acclaimed debut album, Recollections Of The Insane (February 2022), Belgium’s deaththrash frontrunners SCHIZOPHRENIA have announced the release of a very special tribute EP! Chants Of The Abyss will be out on February 10, 2023, and features six blistering cover songs – from Slayer, Judas Priest, Mistfits to Exodus, GBH and Morbid Angel – in SCHIZOPHRENIA manner.
“Playing covers has always been deeply rooted in Schizophrenia. Since the start of the band, we have always included one in our live set list to the point where we felt, time passing, that our adaptations were becoming more and more personal and original. At first, we wanted to include one in our full length, but it didn’t feel exactly right. That’s when slowly the idea of recording “Chants of the Abyss”, an entire cover EP, came about. Separating all originals and all covers.” The band states.
“However, doing covers yes, but simply copying them no. We wanted to emulate the feeling we had with those covers we did live. They had to feel personal and Schizophrenia in a way. There was no point in doing it if they couldn’t feel like our own also. It is exactly that way that we approach the whole EP and which we hope comes out from the recording. Have you ever heard a typical Morbid Angel like beatdown on a Judas Priest song? You might just now!”
Today, SCHIZOPHRENIA have premiered a first single and music video, as the band reveals:
“There shouldn’t be an introduction for this one. Nevertheless we present you,our take on one of the MOST influential death metal bands ever to be unleashed upon the masses. Maze Of Torment by Morbid Angel. The way they kept reinventing themselves is truly something we are aspiring to do so. Their sound was so different then any other death metal band out there.. so distinctive in the best way possible. This is our Homage To one of the greatest, ever. “
“The other important reason we decided to do an entire cover EP was to pay homage to the heritage and history of extreme metal. We wanted to shine light on the bands and songs that made history and created thrash metal. This is why we included songs from death and thrash metal pioneers like Slayer, Morbid Angel and Exodus, but it is also why we decided to record two punk songs from Misfits and GBH as well as a NWOBHM song, Judas Priest. Punk, hardcore punk and Heavy Metal are the essence of the music we play now.
We hope you will like the concept as a small treat we did to ourselves, as music fans above all, but also a small treat we did to the schizo fans! Dive into the different Chants from the Abyss of metal history!”
