Interview by Tarja Virmakari
German thrash metal veterans KREATOR released their new concert DVD/Blu-ray, “Dying Alive”, on August 30 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band’s sold-out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45-day European tour in support of KREATOR‘s “Phantom Antichrist” album. The packed and sweat-driven show was filmed by 24 cameras, as well as guitar and even mosh-pit cams.
Just a couple of days before the release, Tarja Virmakari had a nice and at times very funny, chat with the guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, he spoke widely about Dying Alive and about the details around it. He told also about the homecoming show where it was shot, and about recent and upcoming tours, festivals and shows where Kreator shared the stage with the band’s long-time friends Destruction, Sodom and Tankard. The chat also brought up the music scenes and their differences in Finland and Germany. Find out what Sami told about them and much more by joining the chat below:
