Tornado‘s singer Joey Severance has issued the following studio update:
Friday 11 March 2011, Day 5
So I’m sitting here with Big Maaaaaan and Johnny Wow and I’m explaining to them how this record and the songs are coming out MUCH better than I could ever dream of. Today I did the vocals for 8 of the 12 songs and although I feel physically DRAINED, on the inside I’m over the moon. Between Peter’s guidance, and the performance of Starvin Marvin, Big Maaaaan and Johnny Wow, I felt a lot of pressure to be as great as those guys were and our man Peter paid me the best compliment ever when he said to me “I’m not used to working with a singer like you” (when I told him to just keep the tape rolling as I plan on doing these songs in one take) and my answer to him was “we don’t fuck around” and we didn’t. The other guys seemed as excited as I was when hearing the songs with vocals and we are all extremely proud of this record that we will soon deliver to the public and the only thing left to be completed is the shredding! On a side note, during the recording of “3 of 8” I couldn’t help but to think about my people in Japan or my people in Samoa and the surrounding areas as I sang the line “shift, the ocean floor shift’s. tectonic plates, moving cities above the ground” Our thoughts are with those people in this time of earthly unrest!
Also the Staff of Metal Shock Finland unites to the words of Joey… our hearts and thoughts go out to people affected by the Earthquake and the tsunami in Japan…
