TURISAS: New Video Interview With MATHIAS NYGÅRD

Tero Tolkki of Metal From Finland conducted an interview with Mathias Nygård of Finnish “battle metal” warriors TURISAS at this year’s edition of the Tuska open-air metal festival, which was held July 22-24, 2011 at Suvilahti in Helsinki, Finland. You can now watch the chat below.

TURISAS will co-headline the Heidenfest package tour from September 30 to October 23. Also scheduled to appear are FINNTROLL, ALESTORM, ARKONA, TROLLFEST, and SKALMOLD. Fellow Finns WINTERSUN will join the party at five special, extended shows. After Heidenfest, TURISAS will embark on an extensive 17-date tour of the U.K. and Ireland between October 27 and November 17 and five shows in Spain and Portugal at the end of November.

MAYHEM Frontman Collaborating With Guitarist DENNIS DEEN

Attila Csihar (MAYHEM, TORMENTOR, VOID OV VOICES) and New York City guitarist Dennis Deen are in Oslo collaborating on a new project which is described as “a cross between old TORMENTOR, SKINNY PUPPY and BIOHAZARD.” More information will be made available soon. Source: Blabbermouth.net

 

SKIRMISH To Release Debut Album This Month

Finnish metallers SKIRMISH will release their debut album, “Through The Abacinated Eyes”, on August 31 via Violent Journey Records. The CD was recorded, mixed and mastered at D-studio in Klaukkala, Finland under the supervision of Jarno Hänninen.

According to a press release, “people have tried to chain SKIRMISH inside genre limits, such as death or thrash metal, but the band’s driving force has been to stay outside of categories and to rather make good music in a tight leaning position.”

CRUCIFIED BARBARA Performs Acoustically On Swedish TV; Video Available

Swedish all-girl hard rock band CRUCIFIED BARBARA performed acoustic versions of two songs on this morning’s (Monday, August 1) edition of the “Nyhetsmorgon” program on Sweden’s TV4. You can now watch video footage of their appearance HERE.

CRUCIFIED BARBARA will enter the studio this summer to begin recording its third full-length album for a late 2011 release. Helming the new CD will be producer Chips Kiesbye, who has previously worked with HELLACOPTERS, SAHARA HOTNIGHTS, MILLENCOLIN, NOMADS, WILMER X and BONAFIDE, among others.

Flamboyant Finnish rockers RECKLESS LOVE, who feature in their ranks former CRASHDIET singer Olli Herman, will release their second studio album, “Animal Attraction”, on September 26 via Spinefarm Records.
