I had a chance to interview Niclas Engelin on In Flames’ one-off Italian show, in Milan, less than one month ago…
Hi Niclas, welcome to Metal Shock Finland, and welcome to Italy! What was your first thought of this morning?
So nice to be in Milan and in Italy, in general wish I could spend some more time in your great country!!

Former EUROPE guitarist Kee Marcello will release his controversial autobiography, “The Rock Star God Forgot”, in Sweden on October 19.
Marcello just made headlines in the biggest Swedish newspaper with a painfully honest interview about the memoir, which is said to be “the first sex, drugs and rock and roll book ever written by a Swede.”
“The Rock Star God Forgot” is scheduled for release in the rest of the world in English during 2012.
On October 21, Marcello will release an album, “Redux: Europe”, featuring several new tracks alongside modern, heavier-sounding re-recordings of hits from Marcello‘s previous bands EUROPE and EASY ACTION. Also scheduled for release on the same date are remastered and repackaged versions of Kee‘s two earlier albums, “Redux: Shine On” and “Redux: Melon Demon Divine”.
When asked why he chose to re-record EUROPE songs, Marcello said, “‘Redux’ is Latin for ‘reclaim’ or ‘take back,’ and that’s what I’m doing here. These songs are part of my past and I wanted to bring them into the future.”
“Redux: Europe” will be released in the rest of the world on Friday, January 13, 2012.
A video for the song “Redux: Europe” can be viewed below.
In early 2012, Kee Marcello will embark on a European tour with the following lineup:
Kee Marcello: Lead Guitar, Lead Vocals Jonny Scaramanga: Guitar Ken Sandin: Bass Paul White: Drums
“No Ghost”, the new video from Swedish metallers THE HAUNTED, can be seen below. The clip was filmed at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival in August 2011 by Marcel Schleiff of Record Film and was edited by Anders Björler of At The Gates Production. The live sound recording was engineered by Jacky Lehmann of Audiosound Lehmann and was mixed by the band’s longtime producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio in Denmark.
“No Ghost” comes off THE HAUNTED‘s seventh studio album, “Unseen”, which sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
“Unseen” was released on March 29 via Century Media Records. The CD was once again recorded with longtime producer Tue Madsen (MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST, SICK OF IT ALL) at his Antfarm Studio in Århus, Denmark.
In addition to the regular CD as well as a limited LP version (180-gram black vinyl with the full album on CD as bonus!) and the digital download format of the record, a very special limited edition (pictured on top!) of “Unseen” was released in Europe as a silver-foil-wrapped digipak, including not only classy packaging and extended artwork but also three bonus audio tracks: The brand new song “Attention” as well as radio-session live versions of the tracks “The Reflection” and “The Fallout”.

Commented SONATA ARCTICA keyboardist Henrik “Lance” Klingenberg: “The main show was filmed at the Teatria club in Oulu, Finland, last April. It showcases SONATA ARCTICA towards the end of ‘The Days Of Grays’ world tour, which started back in 2009.
“We played a total of over 180 shows in almost 40 countries during the tour.
“This will be a two-DVD release with lots of bonuses. We’ll have tour documentaries, making-ofs as well as music videos and bonus songs from our very own Sonata Arctica Open Air festival, held in our hometown Kemi in August 2009.
“Whether you missed us or checked us out during this world tour, this DVD will be the complete guide to what we’ve been up to these past two years.
“I’m sure you all will enjoy watching this DVD as much as we’ve enjoyed making it.
“‘The Days Of Grays’ world tour has been absolutely fantastic and I’m very happy that we’ve managed to capture all the ups and downs on film. You’ll know what I’m talking about when we get this monster package out!”
