Last year while All Else Fails were on tour across Canada in promotion of their album “The Oracle: What Was, Is And Could Have Been”, which has been nominated “Best Metal Album of The Year” at this year’s upcoming Edmonton Music Awards . The band had the unfortunate luck of having AEF vocalist’s Barrett Klesko’s laptop stolen when their tour van was broken into. On that laptop, stored for future release to fans was a sixteen track album recorded years ago. Thought to be lost forever, rough mixes and all have been discovered in the murky depths of the Suicidal Bride Records vault. Now back with a vengeance, AEF are proud to share with fans for FREE DOWNLOAD their latest release “All Else Fails – Ruins Punk For Everyone”.

Reactivated Swedish death/thrash metallers THE CROWN will play their first concert with returning vocalist Johan Lindstrand, on May 5 at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg, Sweden. This will mark the band’s first appearance in Gothenburg in 12 years and will likely be the group’s only show in Sweden this year.
THE CROWN is currently writing material for a new studio album, tentatively due late 2012 via Century Media Records.
Commented Lindstrand: “We do have plenty of songs to fill a whole album.
“We have rehearsed on 5-6 songs now and they sound truly amazing. [They contain] a lot of variation, for sure, but with a pretty visible red line through it all.
“There’s still a couple of songs left to start messing with and a lot of lyrics to be written, but you can definitely begin to see an album getting formed and shaped into a real classic.
“There’s no date set for entering the studio but Marko [Tervonen, guitar] will handle the engineering and mixing and there’s no doubt that he will create a killer sound.
“We’re all very excited and we wanna start recording right now, but, as I’ve said before, there’s no room for mistakes. There’s only room for death fucking metal in the best possible way, so therefore we will not rush anything.”
Several photos of THE CROWN‘s January 2012 rehearsal taken by Lindstrand can be seen below. THE CROWN‘s current lineup:
Johan Lindstrand – Vocals
Magnus Olsfelt – Bass
Marko Tervonen – Rhythm Guitar
Janne Saarenpää – Drums
Marcus Sunesson – Lead Guitar
THE CROWN‘s latest album, “Doomsday King”, came out in September 2010 via Century Media Records. The CD was the group’s first — and only — release to feature vocalist Jonas Stålhammar.

Right before the official start of the fourth annual Revolver Golden Gods — which will take place Wednesday, April 11, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles — PANTERA will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its landmark album, “Vulgar Display of Power”, with the worldwide debut of the band’s first music video in 12 years, for the previously unreleased song “Piss”, from the “Vulgar” recording sessions. PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott commented, “‘Piss’ is the only unheard complete PANTERA track in existence. It was recorded at the same time as ‘Vulgar Display Of Power’ and it’s 100 percent PANTERA with attitude and our signature groove! After mixing it, I can’t believe it didn’t make the record! So it’s 2012 and 20 years later and new PANTERA music has been delivered.”

According to a posting on PANTERA‘s Facebook page, the band is now looking for footage of fans “rockin’ out and moshing to their favorite PANTERA song… as hard as they can! The fans that shred the hardest will get their mugs featured in the upcoming ‘Piss’ video. Headbang with your friends, climb the walls of your bedroom, skate around the parking lot where you hang out… however you listen to metal, do it for your iPhone, Android, Flipcam, Bloggie, etc. and send it to us! You must be over 18 to participate.
“Here is what you have to do:
“Submit a video file of you moshing and raging to your favorite PANTERA song. It should just be 1-2 minutes of your absolute favorite song right in front of the camera. Please make sure to state your name and age at the beginning of the video so we can match it with your e-mail.”
To upload the video, go to this location.
If your video is chosen, you will be notified via email and given further instructions.
“Piss” will be included on the upcoming 20th-anniversary reissue of PANTERA‘s “Vulgar Display Of Power”, a landmark album widely acknowledged as one of metal’s most enduring and influential masterworks. Due out May 15 from Rhino, the CD/DVD set will be available at retail outlets, including Pantera.com and Rhino.com, for a suggested list price of $19.98. A version of the release will also be available digitally.
“Some parts of [‘Piss’] were taken for other songs, and at the time, it was the only song that did not make the record,” Vinnie Paul told Loudwire. “In PANTERA, we never had songs that didn’t make the record. If we were going to write 11 songs, then we’d write 11 quality songs. Some bands write 40 songs and then hope they have nine good ones in the bunch. That sucks. Why not concentrate on writing 9 great ones and forget the 31 others? Anyway, this song, at the time, didn’t feel right to go on the record, so we put it on the shelf. . . When I started digging through archives, we were happy with it. It is the only undiscovered complete PANTERA track there ever was and it will be part of the package. It should be cool to hear the first new thing from the band since 2000.”
When asked why “Piss” never made it to “Vulgar Display Of Power” even though it was recorded during the same sessions, Vinnie told Cindy Scull of the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas radio station 97.1 The Eagle Rocks, “I don’t know why this song didn’t make it on the record. I’ll be totally honest with you… After I heard it, it, to me, had the same exact sound and vibe of that record, but maybe it was a little more groovy than the rest of the stuff. And when I say groovy,’ I mean, when you hear it, you’re gonna die because it’s so amazing.” Source: Blabbermouth.net
