SHREDHEAD comes from Israel, playing Thrash metal. Their debut album “Human Nature” was released at august 2011. Shreadhead are: Aharon Ragoza – Vocals, Yotam Nagor – Guitars, Lee Lavy – Bass, Roee Kahana – Drums. Some days ago MSFinland’s Kostya had a chance to chat with the drummer, Roee.
Hi Roee. Welcome to Metal Shock Finland!
Hi man! Thank you! I’m really glad about this!
How was your day?
Awesome! I just came back from rehearsal and we just finished working on a song for our next album!
Tell us how Shredhead was born?
We were formed in 2009 after we met at a hardcore show in Tel Aviv, we jammed for a while and in May 2009 we started working on the material for our debut album Human Nature.
Did you know from the very beginning that you’d play Trash/Death metal or did you try other genres first?
Actually we started as a groove metal band and after a few months we made a 180 degrees turn and started to play thrash metal!
What bands mostly influenced on Shredhead style?
Hoo there are so many bands who influenced each band member and that’s how we developed the Shredhead style. I know Yotam comes from groove metal like Lamb Of Dod and Pantera, Aharon comes from the punk scenes, and Lee comes from grunge and Funk, and I myself come from the oldschool thrash and hardcore punk!
The group has played many gigs across the holy land. Which one of those concerts is the most important/amazing for you?
There were many great shows over the last year but our greatest achievement and the most important and amazing show was our “Human Nature” album release show back in august 2011 in our hometown Modi’in.
As said, Your debut album “Human Nature” was released in august 2011. What can you tell us about a creation process of this album?
Well it was very much a learning process, we really didn’t know what we were doing as far as the recording went on, but it was an amazing experience for us all. And as I said earlier we started writing the album in may 2009 and entered the studio in February 2011 exactly today a year ago!
How it has been seen on the local scenes?
We got great reviews from everyone and made a lot of good friends since the album came out, and a lot of new opportunities opened for us. Like playing with some of the greatest Israeli bands like: BETZEFER, The Fading, Hammercult, Spawn Of Evil, Prey For Nothing and many more.
A few days ago I saw the band Coroner with your album which impressed me that such band as Coroner decided to pay attention to your music…
Well it was a dream come true for me, especially because they are one of my favorite bands ever, and it was a great honor for me and for the rest of the band!
I’ve seen once you on stage and I must say it was one of the most energetic show I have ever seen!
Thank you very much! We try as hard as we can and we practice a lot so we could maintain that level. We just try to convey the energy we feel we have in our music and to bring it to the audience at each live show.
What plans the band has for the future?
Currently we are working on getting “Human Nature” as far out there as we can especially out side of Israel and we are seeking a record label that might be interested in our music and would like to distribute it.
Further more we are now working on some new material for our next album. And a world domination is always a lovely option! Hahahaha
Good luck, guys! Any last words to our readers and your fans?
First of all we would like to thank our fans for all the support, and you for this interview! And to your readers, try checking out the album, please help us spread the word! And of course HAIL SATAN!
