PETER DOLVING: To Release First Solo Album “Thieves And Liars”

Swedish versatile metaller PETER DOLVING (Rosvo, Science, O, Zen Monkey, ex The-Haunted) has issued the following update on his personal facebook page:

Thieves And Liars is my first real solo album. I’ve recorded everything at my home in the countryside outside Gothenburg during a six month period last summer/autumn. Per Möller Jensen recorded amazing drums this spring and now it’s mixed by my good friend Fredrik Reinedahl (Solstafir, Burst, Abandon, Passengers etc.). All left now is the mastering by Tue Madsen.

This record departs from anything I have ever done. Everyone I have played it to tells us it sounds like, well, me.

There is nothing even remotely related to metal or hardcore about this record. It’s rock. Progressive, ecclectic, experimental modern rock. Genre-defying in its truest. Peter Gabriel, My Bloody Valentine, Neu, The Cure, PJ Harvey… well, I guess that kind of gives a hint, but really won’t mean anything until you actually hear it.

I have not yet decided on how to distribute it so initially I won’t make it availbe through Bandcamp. But I’ll be spending several days just tracking up and contacting everyone who’s supported the creation of this album over this last year and mail you all a download-link where you will be able to get the album and artwork as mp3’s, WAV’s or FLAC.

I encourage you to play it to your friends and let’s hope good music is stronger than bullshit business attitudes.
