The organisers of the BLOODSTOCK Festival have announced the following news:
Hobgoblin is excited to unveil its electrifying new partnership with Bloodstock Open Air Festival. The collaboration sees both parties teaming up to bring METAL 2 THE MASSES at Bloodstock 2013, offering breaking bands the chance to perform on the Newblood Stage.
The road show, aptly titled ‘Hobgoblin presents Bloodstock’s METAL 2 THE MASSES’ will be visiting a host of UK and European venues to seek out the best new acts to grace the stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2013. Bands will also be in with a chance of playing a number of established European festivals in 2014, along with a wealth of additional prizes.
In addition to this, as part of its exclusive sponsorship deal, Hobgoblin will be opening up the search worldwide via Wychwood.co.uk , inviting acts to submit their videos online from December 2012. The contest will be mirrored on promotional packs of Hobgoblin from January 2013, where fans can vote for their favourite act, with the winner bagging the coveted slot on the Newblood stage. In exchange for their vote, drinkers also win the chance to take home a whole host of music-related prizes via an ‘instant win’ competition.
Chris Keating, Wychwood‘s Marketing Manager said: “Hobgoblin has been the official beer of Bloodstock for the last few years and what better way to intensify the brand’s long running association with music than by sponsoring METAL 2 THE MASSES? This competition will cement Hobgoblin’s place amongst metal fans and will give fans a chance to play what is arguably, the best metal festival in the UK, as well as be seen by some of the biggest names in the industry, which really is a chance of a lifetime.”
Bloodstock’s METAL 2 THE MASSES competition will be open to all genres of rock & metal, so if you’re in a speed, thrash, death, doom, folk, battle, gothic, groove, metalcore, industrial, neo-classical, Nu, post, power, progressive, sludge, stoner, alternative, extreme, symphonic, Viking metal or hard rock act, then get ready to bring the noise!

This years Metal 2 the Masses rounds were dynamite – and if it’s possible, 2013 sounds like it’s gonna be tectonic. I’ll be avidly following these events to build up my knowledge of underground and unsigned talent, and also for the entertainment value. Cheers Ali \m/
We are INCINERY! This year the most amazing thing happened to us – we played at Bloodstock 2012! AWESOME right! It’s still amazing being able to say that; an experience that happened because of Bloodstock’s METAL 2 THE MASSES production …and a little bit of INCINERY Thrash of course!
Seriously though, Bloodstock had long been a collective favourite of INCINERY, so when we won the opportunity to play on Bloodstock’s NEW BLOOD STAGE the feeling was immensely rewarding! From applying to take part in the East Midlands (UK) METAL 2 THE MASSES regional heats, playing in the final at Nottingham’s ROCK CITY’s Basement, through to winning and arriving at Bloodstock 2012. It was a whirlwind and epic experience of molten metal unctuousness!

Since playing at Bloodstock 2012 we’ve been confirmed for our first overseas gig, and it’s a mammoth one too – none other than MetalDays 2013 in Slovenia!
One word of caution, don’t forget your fortified pants …the air is thick with the smell of brown stuff as round by round the winners are announced – but think about it, IT COULD BE YOU!
