Swedish rock band CORRODED known for the main soundtrack ‘Age of Rage’ for the free to play First Person Shooter game Battlefield Play4Free announces their first ever North American show at New York City’s “The Studio” at Webster Hall on June 19th
The band was formed 2004 and quickly went from unknown to household in their native country, when national TV station TV4 handpicked their debut-single “Time and Again” to accompany the promotion of their blockbuster show “Expedition Robinson” internationally known as “Survivor”. CORRODED went straight into the Swedish albumchart at #6 with their second album “Exit To Transfer”, following up on the success of their debutalbum “Eleven Shades of Black” 2009. No sign of weakness or willingness to fit any other mold than the one that they created with the debutalbum the second album “Exit to Transfer” digs deep within the same influences as before with the heavy rock acts of the 70:s with additional layers of a more modern sound shining through. With their third album to be released after the summer the band has again worked with Swedish platinum selling producer Patrik Frisk at Ninetone Records and the sound is again melodic, dark, heavy and very, very CORRODED.
The band has been touring immensely in their homeland , hitting most important clubs and festivals and are now starting their attack on the North American territory.

Hard rock legend TED NUGENT is known for his outspoken political views and raunchy song lyrics, but he recently showed a softer side when he met hospice patient Michael Golder at his concert in Peoria, Illinois.
As a teenager, Golder played guitar and had hopes of being a musician. He even moved to Nashville to chase his dream before serving with the Army in Vietnam.
Golder was just 19 and already a veteran when a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed. After a year in the hospital and a series of strokes, he was blind and in a wheelchair.
Even after all he’d been through, music was still a big part of his life, said Golder’s brother Stephen Kuhnke.
But the past three decades have taken their toll, and at 55, Golder is now a hospice patient. His life may have changed a lot, but his enthusiasm for rock’n’roll never has.
“He’s a ham,” says Golder’s nurse Thad Flohr of Passages Hospice. “Michael’s a real character.”
So Golder’s caregivers contacted non-profit organization Hospice Dreams to see what kind of special day they could arrange for the lifelong fan. Hospice Dreams grants wishes for adult hospice patients, with each Dream customized to the patient’s favorite activities.
The organization contacted musician Ted Nugent, who was holding a concert at the Peoria Civic Center near Golder’s nursing home. Nugent donated tickets and backstage passes to the show so Golder could have “one awesome night”.
“I’m gonna meet Ted Nugent,” he told everyone he saw the day of the concert.
Nugent welcomed Golder, his brother and his caregivers backstage. Nugent’s dog Thunder and drummer Mick Brown were also on hand for the visit.
The Motor City Madman joked that Golder should come on stage and dance with him from his wheelchair. Golder shook his head, but accepted a gift of guitar picks.
“These’ll give you some really sexy licks [on the guitar],” Nugent said.
Although Golder couldn’t see Nugent on stage, he heard Nugent dedicate a song to him and call out his name.
Golder did his part by bobbing his head and singing along with the music.
“I never knew Michael would get something like this,” Kuhnke said. “What a great organization. I’m indebted to everybody that takes care of him.”

SIX HOUR SUNDOWN, the U.K.-based rock band fronted by Lauren Harris — daughter of legendary IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris — played an acoustic set on June 9 at the Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can watch video footage of the performance below.
Formed in late 2009, SIX HOUR SUNDOWN was born from a desire of like-minded friends (and experienced musicians) to get back to the heart of why they wanted to make music in the first place.
According to a press release, SIX HOUR SUNDOWN “blurs the boundaries of musical genres with edgy modern rock riffs, driven by a solid rhythm section and topped off by a contemporary melody lines, delivered by a vocalist who puts her heart on the line with every performance.”
SIX HOUR SUNDOWN creates music that takes influences from bands as diverse as FOO FIGHTERS, 30 SECONDS TO MARS and VELVET REVOLVER but at all times keeping its unique vision intact.
SIX HOUR SUNDOWN is:
Lauren Harris – Vocals Tom Gentry – Guitar James Bennett – Guitar Mitch Witham – Bass Olly Smith – Drums
When asked why she decided to launch a band after touring and releasing an album under her own name, Lauren told PlanetMosh, “It kind of turned into a band when I was out as a solo artist anyway, because all of us became so close and we started writing songs together and stuff, and then we decided to drop the name completely and perform properly as a band. . . I’m not the only one in the band . . . so we just wanted to make it a bit more equal, and yeah, that’s it, really.”
Regarding the origins of the name SIX HOUR SUNDOWN, Lauren said, “We were talking amongst friends and just laughing and having a drink and stuff, and you know, when somebody says, ‘Oh, I fancy a drink,’ and it’s like one o’clock in the afternoon or something, and you’re like, ‘Really, you’re going to start drinking now?’ Then someone said, ‘It’s five o’clock somewhere in the world.’ . . . We went for six, because six is a cooler number, and six is my birthday, and it kind of led on from there — six hour sundown.
On the topic of the biggest difference between SIX HOUR SUNDOWN and the LAUREN HARRIS band, the singer said, “[SIX HOUR SUNDOWN is] much more current — the songs are more current. What we were doing before was almost a different genre, really. I think now it’s a lot more rocky, more melodic rock, whereas before it was much more pop-orientated rock, so I think that’s really the main difference, and of course, now there’s a band feel to it, which I think gives it a completely different feel anyway.”
SIX HOUR SUNDOWN‘s debut album will be released later in the year via Transcend Music.
