1. Seed
2. The Suffering Within
3. Tightrope
4. Truth
5. When you Fall
This 5 track album combines wonderful expressions between orchestral introductions, Rich textured music and powerfully expressive vocals.
The first track on the album ‘Seed’ which starts with the most wonderful echo effected lead vocals not too far from Radioheads ‘Creep’ but with a bit more expression and textural feeling. As you progress into the tracks the vocals really open up into a mass of super-rich textures and emotions with a jump between soft melancholy vocals to a fast chopped growling madness of sheer terror back and forth. ‘Tightrope’ uses multiple expressions of vocal changes, whilst the music goes in and between high speed riffs and chugs to heavily muted breakdowns and time signature changes. Very exciting music!

10. Starless
Based in Aarhus, Denmark, the progrock band Boil plays an ambitious style of progressive rock and metal that balances on the delicate edge of melodic catchiness, intricacy and complexity. With the 5 members drawing from widely different influences, the unique mixture contains elements of both polyrhythmic modern metal, electronica, grunge and classic rock.
The album starts off with Redefine that has really good clean vocals, The guitar riffs are very melodic and the changes in the timing are perfect, The drumbeats are well done throughout the song. The next two songs are as good as the first track full of melodic riffs good clean vocals. The Fourth song on the album is Quiet Hours starts off with a slow guitar riff in which gets a little bit quicker as it progresses then them clean vocals come in. The vocals are really well put over you can hear that a lot of thought has been put into the lyrics. The style is very similar to Tool in this song starts off slow then hits you with some really good riffs and pounding drumbeats, then slows down while the vocals come in really good stuff. The next two songs are Faceless, Clarity continue with the same quality vocals, complex riffs and timings good heavy melodic drumbeats all good quality the way they have been done. The Seventh song on the album is The Fall starts off with a clean guitar riff then the vocals come in a little louder that the riff, then you have some great little touches in there aswell. The riff continues halfway through the song then the style changes a little with some keyboard samples thrown in for good measure, which mixes really well into the song it give’s it another dimension. Tracks Eight and Nine are Dead Inside and Hypersomnia have more of the same melodic harmonies included on the guitar riffs, the drumbeats are keep the beat perfectly and the vocals are perfectly put over. The last song on the album is Starless starts off with some keyboard samples then the vocals come in over the top, The guitar riff is followed very by the keyboards which I really like. This song a real Gary Numan feel to it in the way it has been put over. It has a very good vibe to it in that it puts you in a very relaxed mood that is perfect for the last song on the album.
Overall
The album has been done really well it really does have the right balance between good heavy riffs, keyboard samples and the vocals are very well put over. If you like progressive rock with a difference you will like these guys.

Italian progressive metallers DESPITE EXILE have set the release date for their upcoming Re-Evolve EP on May 15. The band has just finished a new video for their song “Mechanical” – stay tuned, as this video is a very interesting one!
DESPITE EXILE Bio
One of the fastest growing bands in 2012, Italy’s DESPITE EXILE continues to impress with their unique brand of progressive deathcore. After the fast success of their 2011 debut, Scarlet Reverie, the band wasted no time to get back in the studio to create the absolutely stunning release, Re-Evolve!
While it’s quite a tease for only being a 3 song EP, each respective song packs its own mega punch. The lead track “Oscillate” was exclusively premiered via Got-Djent.com, and received much praise for DESPITE EXILE’s unique onslaught of progressive/technical metal with memorable melodies. The 2nd track, “Perfection Neutralized”, saw its exclusive debut in form of a music video via BlankTV, which has already seen 21,000+ views and counting. Some dub the video as the best BlankTV upload in months. Last but not least is the album closer “Mechanical”, which is one of the most melodic songs the band has written, but don’t let the prettiness fool you as there are still plenty of razor sharp riffs, crushing breakdowns, and blast beats galore. Re-Evolve surely shows DESPITE EXILE up there with the big dogs.
DESPITE EXILE are keeping their momentum at high, and expect these Italians to be one of the big name stories of 2012 and beyond…
