DEGRADEAD: Studio Update, Part 4

Hey all you crazy bastards! Here´s what´s new:

Right now we are preparing for our seminar and gig in Stadsbiblioteket in Stockholm, feeling a bit nervous, mostly because this is totally out of my comfort-zone. Never really did libraries before  Right now it feels really tough. I was not prepared for it to be so intimate, it feels like the people are sitting right next to us .. There are many here who have not heard us play before. So… now it´s time… We are about to get up on stage, but first a couple of songs in the dressing room…

Everything is finally recorded. Now we are completely finished with the album .. What remains is the album-cover and preparation for release that´s waiting to be finished. The whole album was finalized last week. Mastered and recorded by Thomas Plec Johansson in his mastering studio.

The main difference between previous albums and this one I would say is: Much more aggressive, vocal wise much more aggressive. It´s been three years since our last album, so we’ve invested more in the clean vocals and also the growl this time. We did not just record and settle for one good take this time, we have driven it to perfection. You could say this is a sequel to ”A World Destroyer”. This is his Big Brother.

A date for release has not yet been decided, but it should be some time in may. We are now working with PR and getting the word out, towards our audience both in Sweden and abroad.

All of the new texts are based on our inner monsters, you could say. You will see what I mean once you hear it.

We get inspired by each other, all members of the band. The more feedback we get, the more inspiration we get. It also comes from anger, enthusiasm and Plec, our sound engineer. The most fun part of the recordings has been working with Plec – studio technician. He is such a happy, kind and super-nice guy! We have a lot to thank him for.

We had a birthday party for Amit and Miche… Amit became ”a bit” drunk.. I had to lock myself up later in the evening when the others continued the party. All I could hear was Amit singing ”Turn around.”
