Polish death metallers HATE recently confirmed the passing of bassist Slawomir “Mortifer” Archangielskij, in his sleep on April 6th.

Symphonic metallers BLACKTHORN, which includes Mortifer’s widow Varaska (aka Mortiferous Winter Blastphemy) on drums, have posted the following update:

“Many of you may already know that Polish black/death metal band HATE were in the middle of a big tour to promote the release of their latest album Solarflesh, but all the shows have been cancelled after the unexpected death of their bass player Slawomir “Mortifer” Archangielskij, who’s the husband of our bandmate Varaska.
