Finnish alternative metallers SEVEN AGAINST have announced the new bassist JP Immonen (Pentatonik, At Winter´s End, Hammerhed) to the band’s lineup. Also the pre-working for the next album has been started.

Seven Against is a Helsinki based Finnish band formed in 2008 consisting of Toni Palmumaa (vocals), Tuomo Henriksson (Guitar), JP Immonen (Bass) and Miko Saastamoinen (Drums). Since 2008 Seven Against has released three self-released recordings: Demo 1 (2009), Nothing Remains (2010) and III (2012). The music is usually categorized as alternative metal but to describe the essence of Seven Against better, it’s all about great and grooving guitar riffs, metal influenced playing and raw but yet catchy vocals. Even though the lyrics are a bit on the dark side, the songs tell about everyday life that everyone can relate to.
“The Nothing Remains” release was chosen among the best self-released recordings of the year by editor Mr Olli Rinnekangas at Imperiumi.net with the following praises: “Seven Againsts Nothing Remains -MCD is better than its predecessor (Demo1) in every way. Nothing Remains rely on the same rock influenced alternative metal. The straight forward but catchy tunes endure listening very well. The guitar riffs are grooving and the vocal melodies vivid keeping things really interesting. It will be thrilling to see what Seven Against’s future endeavors will be because with this release they truly challenge their American counterparts.”
In 2013 encountered its first change in lineup when one of the founding members Janne Gustafsson was replaced by JP Immonen (former bands Pentatonik and Hammerhed). As proof of the capabilities of the new lineup Seven Against recorded and released a digital single Stand The Flames that is released on e.g. Spotify, Soundcloud and Itunes. The pre-work for the next 2014 aimed release has also been started.
One of the peak moments in Seven Againsts history occurred in the 2012 Finnish Emergenza Festival finals at Nosturi in Helsinki where Seven Against was nominated the best act by the other contenders. One might even say that the live shows are what make Seven Against stand out from the best of the rest. Seven Against has always been praised for their intensive performances and they have received equally overwhelming adoration for almost every song they play.
