IRON KNIGHTS is a British Heavy Metal outfit, with the roots of the band going back to 2008. It’s a group of metallers who saw good days, bad days, hard days and heavy ones, so they are a band of well experienced and professional heavy metal musicians. IRON KNIGHTS have been seen many changes in line-up but they survive to rock hard and metal heavily!
The album has a brutal ‘Transparent’ as the intro, a dark riff by the bass starts an epic sentence and when the guitar joins, it sounds brutal and tough. This kind of intro reminds me of the legendary band DEATH but after one and a half minutes you will find the music more in the style of NWOBHM. IRON KNIGHTS’s new vocalist Jamie tried to create a balance between thrash and NWOBHM with his style of singing, which is more in growling mode than clean. However it’s not the only thrash element in this album, on tracks such ‘Vicious Circle’ and ‘Blind‘, fast and thrashy guitar riffs will give you the joy of metal madness.
The weak point of the “Iron Knights” album is the sound production in my opinion. The guitar solos could become louder and the guitar riffs and drums could be more in the background, but this won’t bother you really if you are a fan of their music. It’s hard, thrashy and heavy metal, throughout the whole of the album. The track ‘The Messenger’ is a fast and epic song, including fast galloping guitar riffs, not like ICED EARTH though, as the band have their own style. It could be your favourite track of the album which is followed by another fast old school thrashy track, ‘Jericho.’ However in my opinion, it could sound better if the vocalist changed his style to more clean singing on this particular track. I can imagine how awesome this track could be if Bruce Dickinson sang on it.
You may find it a little hard to listen the first time, but be patient and you will find it a great album. IRON KNIGHTS’s self titled album will give you the joy of an epic journey from a thrash world, to heavy metal and even DEATH, with a few serious and brutal subjects to think about.
