UK’s death metallers VALLENFYRE have unleashed a new track from their upcoming album, Splinters, due out May 12th in Europe and May 13th in North America via Century Media Records. To hear this second single, “Odious Bliss”, head over to No Clean Singing.com, HERE.

Greg Mackintosh (vocals/lead guitars) comments: “‘Odious Bliss’ is basically a song about self-medicating– whether it is morphine for the terminally ill, or pills and drink for mental and physical afflictions. How it makes everything feel better, but at what cost? Musically, it is steeped in ancient FROST, but with a good coating of VALLENFYRE filth.”
Best known as a founding member of UK Gothic Metal pioneers PARADISE LOST, Greg Mackintosh transformed the anger and sadness ensuing the loss of his father into VALLENFYRE’s Death/Doom/Crust debut, A Fragile King (2011). This heartfelt and cathartic release is now followed-up by the even more abrasive and extreme second full-length, Splinters. Inspired by the likes of HELLHAMMER/CELTIC FROST, AUTOPSY, ANTISECT, DISCHARGE, NIHILIST, early NAPALM DEATH, early BATHORY, and CONFLICT, VALLENFYRE continues to dig deep into the roots of extreme music — yet due to Greg’s infallible song-writing skills, as well as the crushing sound courtesy of producer Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE, BLACK BREATH, BEASTMILK), Splinters is far from mere nostalgia.
