American rock singer Jeff Scott Soto has recently announced via a post (including a photo which can be seen below) on his official Facebook page that he got a copyright infringement complain from Yngwie Malmsteen Management. Jeff was the vocalist on Yngwie Malmsteen‘s first two albums.
“Just got a copyright infringement complain from Malmsteen Management on my YouTube page for a video shot on MY camera appearing with Official Yngwie Malmsteen in Nov 2000 of me singing with him for his encore!..for a song I wrote ALL the lyrics to except for the title itself therefore have publishing entitlement to.” stated Jeff Scott Sotto. “Now after meeting many fans in different countries on this current tour who griped that Yngwie would not sign ANY of HIS albums that already had my signature on them was one thing but after this, I truly must fire 2 middle fingers at these folks! I have been celebrating my life and career including some of these songs but I have such a bad taste in my mouth, I feel like pulling them from the set from the remaining 2 shows…this is just childish, juvenile behavior, something I don’t deserve and have NO clue or reason to be treated like this.”
Mr Sotto also commented: “I will from this day forward erase anything good to say about my time there, if you ever have to ask if all the rumors are true, ask no more!”
