UK/Finnish Metallers KARHU have their own 4th of July celebrations, HE IS BACK! Oh yes! Osku Kinnunen has returned from his national service in the Finnish Army. For what has been an unbelieveably long 12 months, the band has had to put on hold it’s touring activity while Osku fulfilled his commitment to his country.

Osku Kinnunen is back!
Next on the agenda for the UK/Finnish band? To take it’s brand of Classic, Progressive Death Metal to the center of metal music, Osku’s Finnish homeland.
In planning, is the bands first forray into the Euro domain, a tour joining the UK and Finland with stops along the way in Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Sweden.
Karhu management commented “There is massive enthusiasm for Karhu’s music right across Europe. We want to give our fledgling audience a taste of Karhu live. We have as many fans in Finland as we do in the UK. Osku has always come to the UK to tour, so I figured it is time we see where he lives. Now, with Osku’s military experience over, we feel able to take our fight across the channel, we hope the first wave will hit the beaches early in 2015”.
Following his release from service in June, Kinnunen and Parry are straight back into the writing, with daily Skype sessions lasting for hours. Not that the band has been idling while their compatriate has been away. Joe has written some 30+ tracks for 2nd album consideration and may even release some Ep’s of his own later this year.
As for the rest of the band, Drummer – Oliver ‘Sticksman’ Gower is quoted as being “focussed and practicing hard ” while Bassist Jake Arch welcomed Osku back with his usual flair “… Your literally number 2 (after Elvis) on my list of people I want to simultaneously be and sleep with” :-), we’ll keep you posted on that one!
