German underground black metal visionaries DER WEG EINER FREIEHEIT has signed to Season of Mist. The band, called “…one of the best up-and-coming bands in the black metal scene today.” by Sputnik Music.com and “…the future of German Extreme-Metal” by KREATOR’s Mille Petrozza, are currently writing for a new album that will be recorded in the fall and released in 2015.

Regarding the signing, the band comments: “We are beyond excited to announce our signing to Season of Mist, one of the world’s leading and most innovative metal labels. We feel honoured to be part of this great family that brought up many bands we look up to and who influenced our musical work a lot. We thank everyone for their big support in the band and are looking forward to release our 3rd full length album in 2015. Songwriting is finished and we’re ready to hit the studio very soon this month!”

In anticipation of the new album, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT have released a studio re-recording of a track taken from their previous EP, ‘Agonie’. The track, titled “Der stille Fluss” is streaming below:

Established in 2009, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT have since made waves across the underground black metal scene in Germany with the release of two full length albums and well-received Eps in between. In their short time as a band, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT has already toured alongside ENSIFERUM, THE OCEAN, and more, and already performed at several festivals in Europe, such as Summer Breeze Open Air, Blastfest, With Full Force Open Air, Barther Metal Open Air and Wolfszeit Festival.
