Metal Shock Finland (World Assault )

Finnish Doomsday Metallers KYPCK are currently touring Russia, after three long years. The two and a half week trip to the other side of Ural consist of 11 concerts and thousands of kilometers of eastern wilderness. What the band has ahead of them is the most extensive tour ever made in Russia by a western rock band. The “final journey” kicked off yesterday, Friday 19 September in St. Petersburg. Guitaris Sami Lopakka commented the tour before the trip: “I feel fucking haunted!” and adds “Things to remember before the trip”
– pack the the AK-47 assault rifle look-alike design guitar and ALL its documents
– remember this is the most extensive Russian tour done by a western rock band
– rehearse texts of ia Anna Ahmatova & Aleksandr Blok all over again
– be prepared to enthusiastic Russian fans
– travel until the last train stop sign says Иркутск
– play well and call home

KYPCK-singer, E. Seppänen, gives his insight to the band’s adventure:

“Can’t member being tensed up on this level what comes to tours I’ve been part of. Eleven gigs and over half of them at clubs located to the more interesting side of the Ural. The chances are that AK-47 is triggered constantly and the band dives to the Lake Baikal to swim with sturgeons. And as we all know a sturgeon is a fish unlike dolphins which are considered as mammals. This will definitely be ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of a thing, so let’s not stop until the big bang!”

KYPCK’s strong and dark soundwaves flow in the cold undertows of Barents Sea. The lyrics, written in Russia, deal with heavy topics including Putin quotes, current state of Russia and dinosaurs. The release of the third KYPCK studio album, “Imena Na Stene” (Names On The Wall) hit the peak of Rumba album chart in March 2014.
