MAYHEM Announce Norwegian Headlining Tour

Legendary Norwegian black metal pioneers MAYHEM have announced a headlining tour of Norway, reports Season Of Mist. Following MAYHEM’s previously announced November European tour dates, the band will be making stops in Trondheim, Bergen, Oslo, and more. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

MAYHEM is touring in support of their recently released acclaimed album, ‘Esoteric Warfare’. ‘Esoteric Warfare’, which has been called “an adventurous and energetic record built on stylistic explorations and enthusiastic shifts” (Pitchfork), “a magnificent black metal album” (Metal Injection), and “a fantastic display of progressive black metal” (Sputnik Music) is streaming here. In anticipation of the new album, MAYHEM released a vinyl 7″ single, titled ‘Psywar’. “Psywar” is streaming here. The “Psywar” 7″ is backed by “From Beyond Event Horizon”, an unreleased track taken from the band’s 2012 Budapest sessions, and comes in different editions featuring art from Zbigniew Bielak (WATAIN, GHOST, BEHEMOTH) and Costin Chioreanu (ULVER, VADER, IHSAHN, and more). ‘Psywar’ is available here.

2014 sees MAYHEM welcome the 30th anniversary of the single most notorious and important band in the history of black metal. With the band’s four revolutionary full-lengths, a legacy of boundless extremity, and an ethic rooted firmly in the principle of no compromise, MAYHEM are the archetype that three generations of black metal bands follow as law.
