UK/Finnish Metallers KARHU have announced, via their Official Webpages, that they have decided to call it a day. Read the official announcement below:
They say you either make history or you are history. I am sad to announce that the mighty KARHU are now history. After 2yrs of dedicated effort, to try and find their way in the ‘New world order’ that is the current state of the music business, the band have decided to call it a day and limp home nursing their debt of several thousands of pounds.
The experience has been an interesting one, we have met and worked with many fantastic people. To our sponsors we must say a massive thank you, we will continue to give you exposure in any future endeavours. To the few promoters who took a risk, we thank you, all power to your work. To the incredible fans that have found the music, your enthusiasm has been the only thing that has kept us going. To the bands we worked with, god bless you and may your music be heard and appreciated. To the handfull of media supporters who regularly gave us exposure, it was very much appreciated and you gave us hope. To the 10’s of thousands who took the free dowloads and paid nothing for the priviledge, you reap what you sow!
The essence of KARHU will hopefully live on in some way through the future work of TJPP, Jake will be working with Joe on his upcoming album so there is more than a little of the magic going forward. Most of the tracks lined up for the 2nd Karhu album will be released on TJPP side projects at some future date, along with many other works stockpiled by Joe.
We hope the music of KARHU has given you pleasure and once again we say thank you to those that ‘bought the T-shirt’.
(By the way we still have T-shirts and CD’s for sale ;-).
We will be disassembling/reorganising the Karhu sites over the coming weeks and hope to leave a few footsteps in the sand.
