During 2014 Bernie Tormé embarked on a hugely successful Pledge Campaign for his first album for 15 years, “Flowers & Dirt’: he achieved 100% of his Pledge goal within one day, and finished the campaign with an overshoot of over 400%!
On top of financing the recording, production and release of the album Bernie was also able to make a sizeable donation to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Following the release of “Flowers & Dirt”, which garnered considerable acclaim from both fans and media: Bernie also did a stormingly successful UK tour in support of the album at the end of 2014 to an ecstatic audience reception.
To remind any of you who may not be aware of Bernie Tormé, the Irish guitarist is literally a living legend, having played for Ian Gillan, Ozzy Osbourne (standing in with Ozzy in the immediate aftermath of legendary guitarist Randy Rhoad‘s tragic death), Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, and Atomic Rooster, as well as his own projects Tormé (with LA Gun singer Phil Lewis), Electric Gypsies, and GMT and much more.
Fittingly enough, St Patrick’s day 2015 sees Dubliner Bernie get his teeth into a brand new Pledge campaign for a brand new album. Again there will be a multitude of goodies for pledgers besides the chance to pre-order the new album stretching from a simple pre release download to the damaged body of a Stratocaster smashed by Bernie onstage with Gillan in 1981.
Bernie states: “I’m really looking forward to doing another Pledge campaign, the last one was such a great hands-on experience for me and for the fans. For my money that beat the old record company artiste relationship of my past into a cocked hat! And it resulted in an album that is one of the proudest achievements of my career! Can’t wait to do it all again”.
