IN A BAND? WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY FROM YOUR VIDEOS AND AUDIO?
VidEscape is perhaps not a site many musicians and bands are familiar with but all that could change in the coming months. VidEscape is a new video and audio streaming platform designed to allow its users to make more money per view than other streaming sites such as YouTube.

Music videos have long been a large part of the Heavy Metal and Rock scene nad its a scene that is known for producing some amazing and creative offerings from underground bands up to global rock superstars. The music video will never go away and as such VidEscape could be the place to host your bands future video releases especially as Youtube make life very difficult for the working musician……but that’s not all. VidEscape also allows users to upload audio files and those work in the same way as videos, you get paid per view.
Tom Oswald, CEO of the UK based site said “Videscape was created to specifically give content creators a place to put their videos outside of YouTube. We want this site to host the latest in music, documentaries, how to videos, gaming, factual and contextual content and basically anything that is useful to people. We want the site to be where people go who are serious about their videos. Where they are recognised and rewarded accordingly for their work. We don’t have huge amounts of video dating back over 10 years to drain our resources; We have been built from the ground up with the aim to finally make streaming a viable income, as streaming, both video and audio, is very much the future”
This is good news for all musicians as you can utilise both video and audio to promote and share your music with fans, old and new…..but…..Is there a bigger chance of getting more views on VidEscape over YouTube? Tom answered this question by saying “Consider this; your 3 minute video is going to get instantly lost in the 100 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every second, furthermore did you know that viral videos are actually ‘seeded’ to become viral? If you upload a music video to YouTube do you have the £100,000 you need to get it into the multi millions of views that are needed to get you even close to the leader board?….On our platform you won’t be competing with major labels or major corporations which mean you won’t be competing with 100’s millions of views to get on our leader boards. What does this mean? A considerably higher chance of your video being seen by users of the platform, as VidEscape is a level playing field, not one that is skewed hugely in the favour of massivecorporates.”
According to VidEscape statistics, the minimum they pay out per stream is 1 cent. They have no upper cap on payments and as the platform grows they will be splitting profit from the revenue 50/50 with the content creators…meaning bands could profit massively if they have a good following. According to their projections they can expect to pay out up to 5 cents per view by utilising multiple income streams such as; Subscription fees, multiple offsite advertising, promoted video advertising, YouTube imports and more coming in. Whereas other sites will only share advertising revenue from adverts shown on your video it seems VidEscape will share the whole platform revenue, so every cent that comes in regardless of which revenue stream and which account is put in one pot then split between all the content creators. This is the news that musicians from all levels will want to hear.
So no matter if you want to upload just video, just audio or both, VidEscape appears to be biting the heels of YouTube and similar sites and judging by the reaction so far, we may just see a new leader in the streaming sites.
