Guitar legend Ritchie Blackmore has stated in a recent interview with leparisien that he is thinking about playing rock again and doing a few shows featuring songs by DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW. Ritchie said the following:
“I’m thinking about playing rock, just for a few shows in June next year. Songs of Deep Purple and Rainbow. But for now, I haven’t decided completely about the people with whom I want to work. I have a good idea about the ideal candidates, but it wouldn’t be fair to say it now. We probably do 3 or 4 shows in June, that’s all. I think Joe (Lynn Turner) will not be part of the project, but he does not know it yet. But I think I’ll make a mixture in the group, with known people and other not so famous people. There’ll be 3-4 people, it will be interesting.”
Ritchie left the rock world behind in 1997 to form BLACKMORE’S NIGHT with his wife Candice. They have released nine studio albums, the last being “Dancer And The Moon” in 2013.
