Voodoo Hill – Waterfall. Although Glenn Hughes has been involved in higher profile projects than Voodoo Hill of late, their new record, “Waterfall”, is a match for any of them, and stands as possibly the most satisfying album he’s made in some years. Accompanied by guitarist Dario Mollo, an axe hero worthy of inclusion alongside the stellar six-stringers with whom Mr Hughes has been linked in the past, Glenn sings his heart out as usual, across a collection of perfectly tailored songs which combine the melodic, grooving Hard Rock he does best with a contemporary production, again courtesy of Mr Mollo, a man whose solos are passionate, melodic fret-melters. It’s a pleasure to hear the Voice of Rock rocking out like this, with so sympathetic a songwriting partner and musical foil.
